Rain, Rain
Its such a wet horrible day today and silly me went out in it. DH has taken Rebecca swimming and Eilidh and i went to our weekly breastfeeding support group. The weather was ok on the way there but we got caught in a down pore on the way home - complete with hailstones.
Thankfully Eilidh was wrapped up fine and just went to sleep, but I’m soaked. Thankfully its only a 15 minute walk, but i couldn’t find my purse before leaving the house so had no money for a taxi home.
The group was such fun and Eilidh was being a complete show off, i have been a regular at the group since Rebecca was born and it goes through phases of busy/slow/ babies/older tots…
Just now there is a few babies all about the same age as Eilidh . Eilidh seemed so active compared to the others , she was on a play mat but kept moving around ending up doing a 180 and being at the other side of the mat. The best bit was she rolled over from back to stomach on purpose , she took a minute to get her hand out the flashed the room the biggest smile. She even stayed on her belly and squealed and babbled for around 10 minutes.
When on her back she was so fascinated by this mirror teddy hanging above her and kept grabbing it and squealing so loud it was almost embarrassing. Her personality had completely changed this week and she is just so dam happy , i really think putting her down in her cot during the day for naps is whats doing it. She has went from maybe napping for around 1 hour some days to around 5 hours - big difference.
The house seems to silent just now with Rebecca not hear and Eilidh asleep. I have to big bags
full of things to sell on eBay i think I’m going to pull out “maybe”

Coughs, Cookies and Cots
Another weekend down, i cannot believe its going to be Spring soon and just over 3 months to my baby is 2.
Went to my parents for dinner today , yummy as always. I barely seen Rebecca as yet again she
stuck to her cousin like glue. My sister has a bit of a cough though and she took a coughing fit as some point and poor Eilidh was terrified, must have been the loudness of it. I had to take her
away till my sister stopped.
At one point my mum had Eilidh in her arms, sitting her up on her knee and Rebecca noticed , she went and climbed up on my mum *between* her and Eilidh and have my mum a hug- i have
been noticing lately she is getting jealous occasionally.
Eilidh has been a little fussy lately and i think its down to the lack of sleep, she barley naps
during the day and is getting up more and more at night. I think she find it hard to sleep during the day with all the noise and activity so we tried her in her cot yesterday , I’m really not ready to make the move 100% yet but as she has more or less outgrown her moses basket and our room couldn’t fit a cot i almost feel we will have no choice soon. She does look
much more comfy and spread out in it, she is in it just now getting use out of the baby sleeping bag i asked my MIL to get for Rebecca’s birthday and never used.
I tried to make some American style Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookies yesterday and as usual my baking is not the greatest, they tasted lovely but instead of ending up with lots of little cookies i
ended up with a tray of one big cookie, it also seemed a little flat. I think I’m going to give it another go this week and try and space out the cookies on the tray more.

Busy Week
Long time no post, i swore when i started this blog that i was either going to write regularly
or not write at all. Its just been a busy week with little computer time - plus i just got my hands on Diner Dash 3 - Flo On The Go (Play trial at - http://tinyurl.com/37prmk) and have to play these till there completed.
Its been the usual fun in the McIntyre home, Rebecca is getting better and better at the walking everyday . Today she barely crawled at all and was even trying to dance, she also got a new word “Back Pack” as in Dora’s - Thanks Mum. Eilidh is really getting good at babbling and is
desperately trying to roll over but the dam arm keeps getting in the way.
We had a weigh in the other day and Becca is finally above the 20lbs mark at 20.5 and 81cm long (up from 19.11 and 77cm long the month before). Eilidh was 13.2 and 64cm long .
It was my wedding anniversary on Monday, a whole 2 years married
It really seems like nothing when compared to alot of couples, my parents have been married 26 years in April and I’m sure that is nothing for some people. DH and i had a lovely evening - just the fact that we spent it together was enough for me. We had a meal (Domino’s Pizza - but saved him cooking and other take aways are out as Eilidh reacts to alot of things) , and watched a movie (The Break Up) . The sweetest thing was he arranged candles all around the room and we eat and sat in candle light all night, he really is a romantic guy at heart.

Diffrences
It sometimes amazes me how different my girls are, its only been 3 months so they could end
up being so alike but for the moment…..
Here’s a picture of them both at 3 months, Becs first and Eilidh second. I really
think they look completely different.
My pregnancies were complete opposites so i guess i shouldn’t be surprised , with Rebecca
i felt awful from day one whereas except from the tiredness/fed up- ness in the last trimester
i felt fine with Eilidh.
Then there was there sizes -
Rebecca 6lbs 13oz, 50cm long, 34cm head………6 days early and
had her health problems.
Eilidh 8lbs 10oz, 54.5cm long, 36cm head……..8 days late and completely healthy.
I guess i was lucky as one of there similarities has been they both took to the breast like naturals.
I have noticed quite a few differences in there personality in the few months since Eilidhs birth, lets see…
Rebecca was never big on sleeping by herself and much preferred being in our arms.
Eilidh although does like her cuddles sleeps so much better on her own.
Rebecca now at 20 months still wakes once a night, Eilidh at 3 months wakes once a night to.
Rebecca though liked independent play and loved tummy time, Eilidh hates tummy time and
is nowhere near as big on independent play.
Rebecca was also quite a hard child to get to laugh, my dad used to say she would look at you like you were stupid. Eilidh on the other hand laughs and smiles at everything.
Then there is there sizes, okay Eilidh got a 2lbs start but right now she is almost 14lbs . Rebecca
was 14lbs 5oz at 6 months. Eilidh is currently in 3-6 months clothes, Rebecca was at least
6 months before she started wearing that size and that was because i was bored of the 0-3 months stuff. Rebecca definitely takes after her dad and Eilidh my family.
There is also there temperament, although for the most part both are great happy kids. Nothing would phase Rebecca and nothing in my milk would bother her, she could go days without crying at all. Eilidh is a fussier child and i need to avoid eating certain spices and hot foods.
I really cannot wait for the coming months to see there similarities and differences develop more. I do think a major similarity is there both the cutest babies ever ![]()
Walking
Finally Rebecca is walking only took 20 months.
She is not quite 100% yet but is getting more confident every hour. The difference between yesterday and today is amazing.
I am on cloud 9 right now as i was beginning to feel this would never happen, i have so many plans for the summer now and cannot wait to take her out once she is walking 100%.
I have learned so much from this experience, i have a cousin who never walked till 18 months and i really thought there was something wrong with her or her parents. Every time I read about a child older than around 14 months not walking i really felt the parents were to blame. I now know that’s not true, Rebecca has never been an average child and why should she walk in the average range.
I’m a happy proud mammy today.
Health Issues
I think I’m going to enjoy blogging; i really wanted to write last night but couldn’t get to the computer without a kid in my arms. Thankfully both angels are sleeping now - Rebecca has even been in her bed since 7.
Eilidh got her shots yesterday and was a bit ill in the evening, i gave her medicine when we got home as instructed but she couldn’t get more till
at
Today she was in fine form, we go out for lunch every Tuesday and she babbled and squealed her way through the meal just falling asleep at the end. We do our food shopping afterwards and now put both kids in the trolley .I love that
I’m getting worried about Rebecca’s hospital appointment in March, we had not receive anything yet so DH called the hospital and they said they have us done for the end of March and we should receive something soon.
The surgeon had mentioned before that if her voice was quiet they would operate again to separate more of the vocal cords. She is still really quiet so I’m pretty sure she will need more surgery.
I guess its the not knowing that is the worst part as we have no idea how bad the surgery would be, last time she was knocked out and on a ventilator but there was so much more involved that just separating a little bit of vocal cords. The worse part would be i more than likely couldn’t stay in the hospital with her as i would need to be with Eilidh, DH would stay but I’m mummy and it would break my heart to not be. I just pray its a very minor procedure and can be done simply.
I Love Sundays
They used to be one of the longest days of the week for me but at the end of
my pregnancy with Eilidh we started going to my mums for Sunday dinner and its great fun.
Rebecca and her 4 year old cousin play so well together, today it was drawing. Both went
to either sides of an easel and drew for ages - now and then the other would pop there head
around and go boo to the other.
They chase each other around the house, and fight over frozen melon balls. Eilidh was content
kicking about on the floor so i got to be lazy and read the Sunday papers.
We also have a lovely 3 course meal to enjoy, it’s such a joy not having to cook or clean up the mess afterwards.
The girls are always so tired by the time we get home and tend to sleep really well, whereas i get to relax for a few hours on the computer as DH is working.
Tomorrow Eilidh has her second set of jabs and I’m really not looking forward to them, she has
been a little fussy the last few days and I’m worrying that will just make things worse. Also going to try and get Rebecca a doctors appointment as her Eczema is just getting worse and none of the creams and stuff we have is helping, its definitely bothering her now and she is scratching like crazy.
