Looking Back Part 2

Hey i can post again, im sure blog spot hates me……….

Some more looking back

A 32 week pregnancy update

**********

I cannot believe im 32 weeks today, this pregnancy has just flown in and its so hard to believe that at the most 10 weeks
this baby will be hear at that it will likely be in about 7-8 weeks. Her room is almost done now and i can’t wait to start on cloths.

I had a check up today, the way it works here (Scotland) is we see a midwife throughout the pregnancy and delivery with
a couple of check up with the doctor and today was a doctor check up and the first bad one i have had.
To start with there was sugar in my urine which was my own fault as we went for lunch before hand and i eat loads of sugar and
had a glucose drink just not thinking, then my blood pressure was higher than normal 140/80 whereas its normally around 112/60.
The doctor was concerned at my lack of fetal movement and im actually feeling quite bad over it just now and wish i had listened
to my own instinct and called them a few weeks back when it started but as everything i read said 10 kicks a day then i thought
i was being silly and just left it, i feel the occasional movement and normally at night a flutter of movement for about 5-10 minutes but
thats it , my doctor is concerned about the placenta and sent me for (what i think) is a non stress test tomorrow , he called
it something different though but it sounds the same so i am a little worried about it but trying to stay positive and thinks its nothing.

A 40 week pregnancy update

****************

Well i hit the 40 weeks mark on Tuesday and i still cannot believe i made it this far, i was 6 days early with Rebecca and
i just assumed i would be at least that with Eilidh to but nope……….im 40 weeks and convinced im going to be pregnant forever.

I had a check up on Tuesday and everything was fine blood pressure etc… , we do not get checked for dilation or anything at this point
so i have no idea if im making any progress at all . I have my final appointment next week at 41 weeks where we will talk
about induction, the doctor said 10 days is the norm so Eilidh should be making an appearance next weekend at the latest.
Induction scares me though, i really wanted a water birth this time around and im pretty sure they will not let
you have one if induced ,the doctor had no clue - he said at first that waters births were not allowed in this country huh!!!!!.
Midwifes are the ones responsible for our pregnancies mostly and im hoping she will be able to reassure me a little on Tuesday,
i really wish i had the strength to refuse induction but im just way to tired of being pregnant to do so.

Im actually feeling alright though, i think im nesting a little as i seem to have so much energy the last few days . My house
is spotless so there is no way the baby is going to come now :). Rather that get more real everything is becoming quite
surreal and im almost convinced there is never going to be a baby . I have been trying everything i can to help bring
on labour with no luck, im not really wanting to try castor oil or other herbs but have been eating more spicy food than i can
handle and well everything else to :) . Im hoping the midwife will strip my membranes on Tuesday but im not sure if they do that
here or not.

A 41 Week pregnancy update

*************

Well as of today im now 41 weeks pregnant but thankfully an end is now in sight…….

Was up at 5am this morning with Rebecca (damm clock change, we finally got her out of that habit and now its started again) and mild
contractions started just before 6, they were very mild only lasting about 10-15 seconds but coming every 10 minutes. I went to the toilet soon
after they started and was having a bloody show, i got quite excited and was sure i would be having the baby very soon.
Well of course things are not that easy and the contractions went to very irregular with varying intensity and stayed that way most of the day.

Now it just so happens i had my last appointment with the midwife today she checked and i was 2cm dilated , never mentioned effacement
but she did say my cervix was still quite high up but my blood pressure was up (around 140/90 my baseline was 128/68 ) and protein in my
urine so they sent me to our local hospital for a bio-physical profile (not the one i will deliver at, our local hospital has a day unit and
its where scans etc are done) . Everything came out fine , baby is doing fine and completely happy and blood pressure was fine to i still
had the protein but as they were planning to induce this weekend they were not concerned. So my induction is scheduled for Saturday morning,
i have to check in between 7-8 Friday night so only a few days to go .

I am hoping i go into full blown labour by myself before then , been having contractions roughly 10-15 minutes apart since 5 o’clock there painful
but not agony as i can still semi function during them. If i was asked to rate them pre-my first labour i would of properly said a 6 or 7 but as i
know just how bad it can get at the very most a 3 or 4 they do seem to be all in my front rather than back (like with Rebecca) so im grateful for that.
I also do not seem to be bleeding much anymore but have been losing a little bit of my mucas plug.

And well FINALLY

*****************

Im so happy to announce the arrival of Eilidh Joyce McIntyre , bornWednesday 15th November at 4.02pm weighing in at 8lb 10oz and 54.5cmlong (quite different than her 6lb 13oz , 50cm long sister). She wasborn with the cord around her neck and had swallowed meconium in thewomb so it slightly dramatic when she was first born but she quicklybrightened and took her first feed like an expert. She is doing well and we got home yesterday , she is quite a fussychild so far and wants to be on the breast constantly i never got tobed till 6.45 this morning. Im hoping once my milk comes in thiswill die down a little or we may try a paci even though i was sohoping to avoid it this time.Rebecca is doing okay , she gets a little jealous and seems alrightaslong as we cuddle her to . She does not like in when she criesthough and starts doing it herself , DH is away for a nap with herand Eilidh is in her moses basket asleep and im just waiting for themidwife to come (hopefully soon so i can get a nap)Will type up my birth story shortly, right now going to curl up onthe couch and relax.I have a couple of photos uploaded here , 2 with DH and one with herlooking very unimpressed at only a few mins old.http://www.freewebs.com/mcintyreclan/100%5F1884.JPGhttp://www.freewebs.com/mcintyreclan/100%5F1885.JPGhttp://www.freewebs.com/mcintyreclan/100%5F1886.JPG
