Today has just been one of those days……..
It started off just fine, we had a lovely morning and the girls and i had fun dancing along to American Idol before nap time. They both napped well and i had a lovely bath in fact i had
to wake both of them up as we were going out and that’s when the trouble started.
I hate using the double buggy for the girls, its big and heavy and basically a pain in the butt . If I’m going out with DH or my sister we normally take two single prams but today i was meeting my sister at hers so we couldn’t take single prams . Of course i came up with a wonderful solution just take Rebecca in her pram and Eilidh in the sling, then once down the shopping centre Rebecca can walk and Eilidh in the pram.
To start with i guess it would help if i knew what i was doing with the sling and although i think i got the positioning correct i still did not feel Eilidh was 100% safe and didn’t like taken my hands off her. So i pushed the pram one handed to my sisters , then walked the rest of the way terrified of her falling out .
Once at the shopping centre we made the swap , Eilidh seemed to love being in Rebecca pram and was so happy in it but Rebecca was being very annoying and refusing to walk and wanting carried. She would go down and walk a little but would try to crawl and at spots lay down on her belly and pretended to swim ………….toddlers…………
My dad was suppose to pick us up but couldn’t make it so i had to get a taxi home with the two girls and just me, Eilidh in the sling again on my lap and Rebecca in her pram . I hate them not being in car seats and was terrified of something happening.
Then came the dinner disaster, we got home i fed Eilidh then started making dinner but Eilidh was just not happy - she was tired having missed her afternoon nap and screamed the entire time. Rebecca was being so sweet trying to help but in the end she was miserable to , crying and getting in the way. I was making Chicken Omelet dippers with potato salad but after making one omelet decided to just feed Rebecca and get Eilidh down , my dinner could wait (although i was famished). I gave Rebecca hers and let her eat it in watching tv , something i never do so i could bath Eilidh and get her down.
Rebecca was eating happily so i made mine, completely messing up the potato salad and destroying the kitchen DH had only cleaned about an hour before.
Rebecca’s bath was no better, she normally loves it but cried the entire time and finished it with a nice big poo . I guess im just grateful both kids go to bed at 7 as i just needed a break by then, its now 7.32 and both are sound .

I’m so sorry you had such a rough day, hon! I think we all have days like that every once in a while…maybe we can try to put a positive spin on it by saying that it makes us realize how fortunate we are that most days AREN’T like that?! At any rate, I home today was better!
What a rough you had! I hope the girls slept good for you that night so you could recover a bit!
Your girls are so beautiful, btw
