Synchronization of Us

Today we managed a rare family day out, its been so lovely that we decided to turn a couple of errands into lunch and a trip to a park.

Rebecca just loved it, she has not been to anything like it since she started walking and just having all that space to run about on was wonderful.

We played with her ball (her favorite thing to do at the moment and having so much room was heaven for her), went to see some animals and had ice cream (well DH and i had ice cream and when offered a little she stole it and ran away)

And of course we had to play in the swing park to

don’t think she was happy being stuck in her pram.

We had a birthday dinner for him yesterday, it was a lovely meal and my mum got the girls to make the table cloth.

Its a combination of finger paints, Markers and Stickers - the finger paints are so easy to make if anyone is intersted

Homemade finger paints are nontoxic, washable, and always available.
Stir 4 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 cup cornstarch together; add 2 cups
of cold water, and heat over medium heat until the mixture is thick
(the mixture will further thicken as it cools). Divide into four or
more containers, and add food coloring as desired.
The only down point was Eilidh was kinda fussy but she woke with a runny nose and eye today so i think she has a wee cold poor thing .

My wrist is to sore to write much tonight, we did start solids today and it went so well - I think im coming to terms with the fact that Eilidh is ready for them .

We just spent the day hanging out and having fun , not very exciting but thought i would share some pictures i took anyways.

Figured it was time i done a real post rather than a post full of pictures or fluff.

Its not been the most exciting week, the weather was pretty blah for alot of it so we never went out much. We took a trip to the shopping centre on Sunday, to pick up some more teething tablets for Eilidh and pushing the stupid double pram somehow buggered up my wrist. I have been in pain on week, if its still as bad Monday i think i will have to bite the bullet and go and see the doctor.
Rebecca has been driving me insane with her sleeping this week, it seems being ill has just made her regress to waking constantly and feeding what seems like hourly . She is also back to getting up around 5am . Other than that she is doing so great and keeps us very entertained - she loves throwing her ball around and riding her toy car up and down the hallway. She runs away from us constantly just because she can , and plays mum with her “baba” . She is getting so good with feeding herself using knife /forks etc… but it can make meal times even messier
She loves to play games and wind us up, even being put in Eilidhs cot as a punishment - she turned it into a game of running up and down and bouncing, she stayed in there for about 30 minutes before getting out and saying “Im sorry”.

Eilidh is doing great to, practising on her crawling and gets a little closer each day. I need to give her more time sitting so she can perfect that, i have noticed she is not babbling that much and is not really making many sounds yet but I’m assuming its because she is so busy with other stuff. We were impressed with her tonight when she lifted up a witch hat (from Halloween) and put it on her head rather than try to eat it . The big news with her is we are going to start solids tomorrow , i have really agonised over this so much as there is still 2 1/2 weeks till she is 6 months but i honestly believe she is ready. She is showing all the signs and when i let her try a little bit of banana of a spoon she took it like a pro - she does not try to push the food out and chews it for a bit before swallowing. She is still sleeping great so i don’t think she needs it but she wants it so badly. Expect some pictures of this tomorrow.

We did have the girls health visitor come by today and she weighed and measured them both.
Rebecca was 21lbs and 80cm
Eilidh was 14.12lbs and 64cm

I was quite surprized that Rebecca had not grown any as her legs seem so skinny but i guess its from the walking. She is in 5% for weight and 12 for height.
I was a little upset by Eilidhs as she had not gained since the last time she was weighed a few weeks back, i was so sure she would be over 15lbs bu now - but the health visitor was not worried as she thinks Eilidh is just burning off all the calories from being so active (she honestly never stays still even in her cot - Christina if your reading was Nadia like that to? ) . I was convinced she would be longer to as all her clothes are getting to short but i guess she is healthy so who cares , she was 50% for weight and 68% for height.

Thought i would upload a little video Eilidh trying to crawl, please ignore the mess of the carpet i was cleaning the room when i stopped to take the video.

Eilidh is getting so close to crawling , she has got the army crawl down but spends so much time on all fours. Its just so cute to watch, she gets up and kinda bounces around up there trying her hardest to move. She is getting so frustrated with it and normally ends up in tears.
She is also *almost* getting herself into a sitting position - she is going on all fours then pushing herself so far back her legs go down and she is almost in the “frog” sitting position. Completely accidental but cute.
I cannot beleive how much she is doing for a 5 month old, im really expecting her to be fully crawling within days.

I have noticed something lacking from my blog lately and that’s some pictures of the other young lady in my life , my wonderful 4 year old niece Courtney.
I totally adore her and just love being around her, she is funny smart and just adorable. Rebecca and her are really playing so well together these days even if Courtney does wonder why Rebecca follows her around so much. I don’t like wishing the time away with my girls but i sometimes cannot wait till there that age as the stuff they say can just be so funny.
She starts school in just a few months, and i know we all find that hard to beleive - was’t she born just yesterday?

Its been lovely weather lately so today i took the kids out the front garden to play for a while, we put Eilidh in her walker (she is not moving in it but makes a good toy tray) and Rebecca kicked about a ball. Her daddy had been out getting a hair cut
and got home at just the right time - or course she had to jump in the car and have a go.

Eilidh discovered herself in the mirror this morning and it was just to damm cute - she kept moving her head and touching herself and even giggled a few times , she was so happy till Rebecca came along and more started trying to join in.
