Today i done something completely unique for me, i took the girls out for the day to meet up with some friends. That’s right people who were not related to me through blood of marriage.
I met Diane a few months back through a mums site online, she has two adorable daughters, one is 8 and the other two days younger than Eilidh.
We arranged a meet up for the first time today ,we took our kids to a big play centre so they could play about and we could talk. A friend of hers came with her 3 year old and 18 month old.
I feel almost like a new person tonight, i guess i completely forgot what it was like to be around other Adults and to actually have proper conversations. Eilidh was great and loved to look and crawl around. It was a big step for me with Rebecca as it was the first time i really let her be independent and run around the play area with out someone watching her. I had a few scary moments when i couldn’t find her, at times i would look and she would be right at the top of the climbing equipment (which was high - height of a house but completely safe) and i would freak. She was loving it though and every time i did see her she was having the best time, thinking about how big and happy she seemed makes me want to tear up. Afterwards we went back to Lornas nearby house for cups of tea and to let the kids play for another while before going home for dinner. Eilidh just loved everybody and as usual Rebecca ignored the kid her own age and liked to watch (but not join in just yet) the older kids. I have been invited to a party in two weeks which im hoping to go to, imagine me at an actual adult party with no kids - shocker.
I think this is just what i need just now to get me out of the funk i have been in lately, i need to try and get some sort of life for myself . I have a meeting of a new mums group Saturday so yet again will get to meet some new people , cannot wait ![]()

Yay! I’m SO happy for you, Laura! That’s just great that you’re getting out there and meeting new people and having adult conversation and all that fun stuff! Good for you! really, really hope you’re able to make it to the party - that’ll be good for you! Be LAURA for a while instead of MOMMY all the time. :o)
