These days most mornings cannot pass without Rebecca asking for a bath, she gets one before bed so i try not to do one every morning - just if its needed (such as if she has been nappyless and peed - or the other day when Eilidh had sick in her hair) .

This is how my morning went today

6am

Rebecca - Bath
Mummy - Not this morning

7am

Rebecca - Bath
Mummy - Not this morning

8am

Rebecca - Bath
Mummy - Not this morning

A few moments pass, the bowl of cereal Rebecca is eating for breakfast gets put on her head. Milk everywhere

Rebecca - (Smiling as milk runs down her face) Bath?
Mummy - (Sighing) Will go and start it

Now better go and get the girls in the bath before they scream the flat down.

Today was Rebeccas first day of playgroup, for those not in the UK playgroup is a sort of pre-nursery program kids can go once there two. Its ran by volunteers and non compulsory, We really feel Rebecca will benefit from it - both to help speech and interaction skills.

It started off wonderfully, i was terrified though - Rebecca has never been left with anyone outside family and i had no idea how she would react.

On The Way There

We got there and she just went happily about the room playing with the various toys, i was planning to stay the whole time but she seemed so happy that i decided to go home - its only a few minutes away plus i missed my Eilidh (Okay i have some issues being away from my girls).
Eilidh and i spent the time playing and sorting clothes

I put Eilidh down for her afternoon nap and went to get Rebecca (yes DH was home) , i walked into the classroom to find her in one of the leaders arms and in tears. I still feel so bad over it, she lept straight into my arms and wouldn’t let go - she kept asking to leave. The teacher did say she was mostly ok, she would play for a while then get a little upset but could be comforted easily . I am trying to believe them, they did say they would call if she got to upset and i know from friends kids that they will. She apparently spent most of the time painting as i could easily tell from the mess.

Not sure how easy it is to see but she was covered head to toe - her hair was blue and pink steaked with sparkles in it.

I do think she will enjoy it, she is back on Wednesday and im thinking i will stick around this time.

Not really many great shots to share this week, been having a little camera brake - these were the best of a small , not to good bunch

Now go over to Picture This to see some much better shots .

The Awkward Kiss

Despite the plans i made yesterday (the usual house related stuff) i decided at the last moment to take the girls and go a walk around our local shopping centre. Do you ever get those days when you just cannot face being stuck in doors? On the walk down i passed this young couple in a shaded area next to a children’s play park (that Rebecca was begging to play in, i would of let her if it wast raining) .
From the beginning on the pathway you could sense the awkwardness between them, they were young - maybe 15 - and kissing. They were kissing the way only young shy kids can - mouths were touching but every other part of there bodies were miles apart, when i walked past they pulled apart and i got to here there most wonderful conversation.

Guy - (Sigh) We should just of gone to the cinema
Girl (Playing with her nails) Yeah - snoggings boring

Why did i find this funny ? Why did i bother boring you guys with it? . Well im not sure other that im so glad to not be that age any more, sometimes its easy to look back at being 15 and say it was great . BUT in reality im pretty sure it sucked, im glad to be away from the dating scene.

The Wrong Word

Walking into a popular clothes shop while out i immediately noticed a young child trip and fall (not badly ) she immediately burst into tears and sat on the ground. Im guessing she was not much older than Rebecca, but upon crying she shouted in such a upset voice “My daddy r***d me” . Now imagine it - its Saturday, its raining outside - the shops is busy. The entire shop seemed to stop and just stare, the mother ducked straight down gathering the girl into her arms and the father (looking completly horrified ) just stood there , you could tell he was unsure what to do. Well it finally emereged what the little girl meant to say was “My daddy tripped me” (I imagine she feel over his foot or something ) , it was just an innocent slip of the tongue in a young toddler , but those poor parents . I can only imagine how embarrassing it must of been.

Not Pretty In Pink

While im on the topic of the shopping centre i must ask does anyone really think its ok for someone over the age of 16 to wear head to toe pink ? Especially baby pink? . Okay i like pink, including baby pink and have been known to wear it myself (in fact yesterday had on a dark pink top, today a light pink) But seeing someone old enough to be my gran mother wearing baby pink shoes, trousers and top and carrying a matching bag makes me want to gag - to make things worse i saw to completely diff rent people wearing these type of outfits yesterday.

Not So Good For You
As my sister was babysitting it was just going to be and the girls for dinner that night, i went to pick us up a little treat - going for a fruit trifle for us to share. As usual i went to go for the healthier option but checked out the nutritional values compared to the full fat version

Full Fat ———— Health Version

Calories 200 ———— 140
Salt 0.2g ————1.2g
Sugar 13g ————17g

I cannot remember the fat but there was about 4g of a different. Now for me i couldn’t believe the difference in the salt/sugar content between healthy and normal, so get fat or lose your teeth ?
I ended up going for the full fat version, i would prefer the healthy one but as high calories are ok for the girls (preferred in Becca’s case) i made the sacrifice :) .

Im so excited , my wonderful friend Christina awarded me with my first blogger award. Im so honored and thankful, i love blogging and am still shocked that anyone but family spends time reading it. For those who read this - i love you guys - your comments constantly put a smile on my face.

“The Blossoming Blogger Award should be bestowed upon one worthy someone whose blog you have read and watched develop and ‘blossom’ into something you feel is special and award worthy.” Please visit Kimberly’s blog to read what the award is all about.

Now comes the hard part, who should i share the award with? I read many, many blogs these days - over 70 at last look , Lisanne started the obsession for me and many others helped make it grow. BUT many of those blogs have been around for much longer than mines and this award should be given to some new to this world, i have decided my lovely friend Tiffany from A Day In The Life Of Tiffany should be the next in line for it. Tiffany is a first time mom to a wonderful little girl, we met through an online group and she is one of the sweetest , nicest people i have ever met. Her blog is a lovely look back at the love and wonder of a first time mom and its wonderful seeing her daughter and blog grow a little each day.
So Tiffany hun, this award is for you :)

Climbing - something that any parent of a toddler knows way to much about. My toddler by nature is not as wild as most but she still has her moment. Lately she has developed a real wild streak and is climbing and jumping of the highest objects, today at a play area she discovered she could run up and down the slides. I guess i shouldn’t be shocked as i know she loves to run up and down hills.

But not only are we dealing with this but also the baby deciding that 9 months old is not to young to become an expert climber to. She goes up stairs like there nothing, climbs and stands on her sisters chair, she can sit herself on Rebecca’s toy car and push herself around the room . Her bath seat is now completely useless as she just climbs straight out. Im really amazed at the stengnth in her wee legs and she stands herself up and bounces up and down, crouching her legs and straightening again (all without holding on).
My biggest problem is i doubt we will be able to get her walking shoes for a while, i tried Rebecca’s first pair on her which are a 3 1/2 and they were way to big - walking shoes seem to start at 3 1/2 here. Hopefully her feet will decide to take a spurt soon.

Oh god, see this diet i have been doing that is going quite well for the most part? I just completely blew it today - not only did i eat cake after lunch but i just eat a FULL PACKET OF CHOCHOLATE CHIP COOKIES. I feel so ill right now, lets see 20 cookies at 51 calories each is how many total calories? . Im so ashamed of myself :(
