The Day After

Posted by lauramcintyre

I bet you are all on the edge of your seats waiting for an update from me, did i survive a night with three children? Okay maybe nobody really cares that much .

Last night went so much better than i thought it would, Eilidh was sleeping as normal by 7 and the girls and i curled up in the living room to watch Happy Feet and eat popcorn. Well im not sure how much of Happy Feet any of us watched, i know about half way through i went and played with the laptop for a while . Rebecca and Courtney were playing silly game after silly game and i was so not needed. I know at one point Courtney was laying trails of popcorn that doggy Rebecca had to eat of the floor. Of course when it was done i made them get washed up and do there teeth again.
About 9.30 the evening started to wind down and Courtney was happy to curl up on the sofa to watch the end of the movie, Rebecca was so tired (she is normally sleeping for 7) but would go between cuddling up and running around.
10 o’clock came around and i took her through our bedroom to bed, she went straight to sleep. Courts followed about half an hour later.
I really wish i could of gotten a picture of the two of them but i was so scared of waken the girls up but gosh were they cute both curled up together in my bed. Courtney spent most of the night cuddled upto Rebecca.

All three girls slept wonderfully and were all up between 6.30 and 7 (a late start for me), a chaotic but fun morning followed and thankfully my girls took there naps perfectly today (while Courtney played quietly). We went about our normal Tuesday routine - lunch followed by food shopping. Now food shopping with a 2 and 4 year old running around was truly exhausting.
Courtney went home around 3 this afternoon and poor Rebecca was heartbroken - she cried for about 15 minutes and keep going to the window asking for “No-Nee”. I think she just adored having her cousin here and to be honest so did i, its so easy to get caught up in how much i love my daughters to remember how crazy i am about Courts.

My tooth is feeling slightly better today although still tender and eating is difficult, hopefully should be better tomorrow.
