8 Obscure Things Meme

I was tagged by Julie for this meme a few weeks back but completely forgot about it till Christina done hers . I dome something similar a few months back so decided to give this one my own twist – a pregnancy/parenting related 8 things about me.

First the rules:
-We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.

-Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
-People who are tagged write their own blog post about their eight things and include these rules.
- At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and that they should read your blog.
-Eight is a magic number. Not three.

And now for my facts:

1) I was never the person who dreamed of becoming a mother growing up, i did love the idea of pregnancy though and thoughts of being a surrogate. I still like the idea but as my first pregnancy was so difficult doubt its something i will ever do

2) The first moment i thought i may be pregnant with Rebecca was when out for lunch. I was 4 days late but it never occurred to me till sitting down eating a burger – it just popped in my head and i obsessed about it all weekend before telling DH.

3) Despite two positive home tests and a bucket load of symptoms we still didn’t believe it till we got the doctors results – and then told our families.

4) I always swore i would never give my children a dummy , i hate them and thing they look so ugly – then Rebecca came along and wouldn’t settle when not sucking. I also swore she would be off it by her first birthday but two years down the line its still around.

5) My parenting style was going to be prefect, no junk at all – no tv – non stop educational and interesting stuff from noon to night. I always thought bad of parents for not doing these things , then i realised that me being perfect was not whats best for the kids. They need a little fun stuff in there lives.

6) I LOVE co-sleeping with Rebecca and really wish Eilidh would sleep with us to, i spend many nights curling upto Rebecca with a tear in my eyes.

7) I could never understand how people could not know exactly how old there child was , i could always tell you how old Rebecca was (in weeks) . Then Eilidh came along and i only ever knew months. I never believed it when people would say i would be more relaxed second time around. I still have no desire to leave my children though.

8) Im slightly obsessed by breastfeeding and honestly cannot understand why everyone able to doest at least give it ago . I get so worked up at the sight of a baby getting a bottle but am trying to be more understanding these days. Im not sure when i will wean my girls but secretly (or not so much anymore) love the idea of feeding till there 4/5

So there it is, im not tagging anyone as everyone seems to have done it already – but
feel free to steal it if you fancy (parenting related or not)

    lol what is a dummy?

  2. Christina says:

LOL at #5…I think that’s true of all of us until we actually have kids!

  3. Kristi says:

I can relate especially to numbers 4 and 5! And while I like the idea of co-sleeping in theory, my husband is much too “rough” a sleeper for a wee one to survive in bed with us.

  4. AM says:

YES YES YES. I too get very worked up over seeing bottle-fed babies. And I know I have friends that do that (dear friends that I love). but it just seems like the baby is crying out to be nuzzled and nursed, not to have a plastic bottle shoved at them.

  5. Chas says:

I will admit that I always kind of secretly wanted to question moms of small babies when I’d see them bottle feeding, but only if I was positive it was formula they were using. I mean, I was an exclusive breastfeeder for the first year, but I still pumped milk and had Lila’s babysitter feed it to her while I was at work. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
