I would love to be writing something interesting tonight but im just *way* to tired. I have no idea whats up with me the last few days, the girls are sleeping great but im exhausted all afternoon and evening. Think i may be coming down with something as being feeling kinda blah - spent about 30 minutes with my head in the toilet the other afternoon :)

May not be around much the next few days, trying to relieve some pressure on myself - due to blogging, commenting on blogs, reading and writing emails and sorting out my pictures and videos im getting more stressed when on the computer than not. I think im going to spend tonight playing some silly games .

How cute are they?

My sister is away to a concert tonight, as my parents are away i offered to take Courtney so she could still go. All kids have been on there best behaviour and are all snuggled up sounds asleep now. Thinking im not going to get much bed tonight.

And just cause i want to a pic of my other cutie taken today

Now please let me know if I’m being unreasonable but dh is still on his summer holidays (till next Monday sob) , he works Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. All i ask if for
him to get up with the girls once a week. Is that , that mean of a request? OK he moans
about it but for the most part does do it. He had a few weeks off from doing it while
he had re-sits , then one week where he was dealing with Eilidh till *shock* 2am and said he couldn’t get up with them as he was up to late (because i have that option ALL THE TIME) . Last week Rebecca got up so late that i wasn’t tired anymore so just played the computer for a while while DH dealt with the girls.

Which lead me to this morning………..

4.50am - Rebecca wakes up, mad panic over her dummy. Get her a new one and she takes Milkys and starts to settle again. Starts coughing.

5am - Goes between trying to go back to sleep and having a coughing fit

5.10am - She (we) give up and admit that she is now up for the day. She plays around in the bed.

5.20 - DH finally gets out of bed and goes to do his morning essentials (you know bathroom, drink, sit around for a while).

5.30 - Im finally free, Rebecca is with DH and Eilidh is still sleeping and go and curl up in my bed (all alone which is rare) and start to go back to sleep.

6.00 - Wake up hearing DH moaning at Rebecca, she then proceeds to bang something or other and this goes on for ages.

6.30 - Im just falling asleep when Eilidh wakes up, i wait (and wait) for DH to go and get her but eventually go and do it myself. Switch the computer on to read email while i feed and get moaned at, go through the living room.

As you can guess i never did get to go back to sleep, DH is in the living room with the kids and not happy with me for sitting in here playing the computer. He gets to sleep in 6 days out of 7, and that’s with no interruptions . I could so see him taken Rebecca in the mornings while i woke up (NOT) .

Ugg sorry for moaning, it was my last chance to sleep in for a while and i missed it again.

The one good thing is Eilidh seems to be back to sleeping all night again on a regular basis and its wonderful . Still not 100% what the problem is but i guess it could of been because she was working on walking i have heard that can cause sleep problems.
Part of me is worried it was because she was cold at nights, we put her in her sleeping bag last week and she has slept great since. I feel so guilty over it, she does have blankets in the cot but wriggles so much she ends up uncovered. It does make sense as she would go down fine at first but later on would scream and refuse to back down in the cot. I feel like such a bad mummy over it :(

I have had a hard time coming up with a best shot this week, i have not taken many pictures and today took dozens trying to come up with one. None really stood out but decided to include a few of my favorites so i could still play.

Shoes

Silly i know but this week we took the girls shoe shopping, Rebecca really needed a new pair of trainers (aren’t they adorable) and we were going to get Eilidh her first pair of “real” shoes. Turns out Eilidh has super small feet and couldn’t find anything that fitted her without paying a small fortune , so we are going to wait a while and hope they grow. She only really needs the walking shoes for outdoors anyway and i doubt she will doing much outside walking just now.

My Parents

My mum and dad are on holiday just now ,2 weeks in Gran Canaria doest that just sounds wonderful? . Im just missing them like crazy, its not just Friday night dinner but more just talking to my mum. Most mornings we spend a good hour or so on the phone chatting, what about? I don’t have a clue but i love doing it. Looking forward to them getting home.

Sleep

As explained in yesterdays post, last night was another wonderful night - Rebecca woke at 8.00am this morning and of course never napped again. Im sort of getting used to the idea and have spent ages looking for fun things to do with the girls in the mornings.

My Life

It looks like im going to be busy soon, im starting *two* different study at home courses in the next few weeks. A Bookkeeping one and a Breastfeeding councillor program, both take around 2 years to complete. Once DH is back at uni i have plenty of spare time in the evening.

Big Girl

I have been awful sad looking at Eilidh lately, i cannot believe she is almost one and now a toddler. I miss the tiny baby so much, i love her like crazy but just wish she would slow down a little.

In Ten Months

I have a few people ask if they can blog the video featured here

Sure go ahead, its not mine or anything to do with me just seen it on Youtube and thought it was to funny not to add.

Also totally forgot but remember this
post? Looks like no one got the answer corret but my little angel had somehow got herself into the jar of coffee and was helping herself - yes she seemed to love it and no she was not up all night :)

Im no stranger to sleep deprivation, having a child not sleep through the night till 2 years of age can do that to you. Of course adding a newborn to the situation can make it worse. Does anyone remember this post when i said how much i was loving my sleep. I thought i had got lucky and smugly went along my daily life thinking my baby sleeps all night na na na na (with no Cry it out involved). So of course just when i start to truly except the situation it all goes to hell.

Eilidh has been a nightmare lately, not napping or sleeping well at night. Some nights up for hours at a time and refusing to settle again , a few nights she even passed out in my arms for a few hours which was lovely. I was getting barely more that 3 hours (broken) sleep a night and was pretty miserable.
Things seem to be improving though, the last two nights she slept perfectly all night . Even if tonight is back to being up again having a few nights to catch up on my sleep really helped - and it showed she still can sleep through the night.

Then there is Becca, straight from the beginning she has been an early riser - 5 maybe 5.30am most mornings. The last few weeks she has started getting up around 6 /6.30 am , but her nap time has been getting more and more difficult.
She has totally shocked us the last two days though, yesterday getting up at 7.20 and today 7.40 - and both times i think i woke her up leaving the bed to get Eilidh.
Yesterday she still napped but today she refused, it was the first no nap day for her. To say she was a mess tonight was an understatement and was over tired all day long, even asking to leave the play centre we were at. Its also the reason that its only 6.47 here and both kids have been down for almost an hour.
Its to early to say for sure but i have been feeling the giving up nap thing has been coming for a while, to be honest i would probably prefer to get up at 5am and have the two hours during the day to relax . I missed it today.

I have a feeling I probably just jinked everything by writing this post but figured i got 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night (then another 1 1/2 hours after bathroom break) so i deserve to do something stupid.

1 - The girls attended there first birthday party in a sports hall, Rebecca played with skipping ropes and space hoppers for the first time and they had fun in a mirror filled room. Not to mention they both got there first McDonald’s - although Rebecca really only eat a couple fries and Eilidh some of the burger bun (order Fruit Bags for them but they never showed)

2 - Eilidh has started giving kisses and hugs, the kisses are the open mouthed slobbery ones but are just adorable. She is already learning how to manipulate with them - like at 3am in the morning when she doest want to sleep and keeps kissing me over and over. She also has a new word “Bath”.

3 - Eilidh is starting to spoon feed herself, although at the moments its really holding a spoon with one hand and using the other to feed. Her walking has improved so much that she barely crawls .

4 - Rebecca is finally starting to settle at playgroup, i can’t just leave straight away but can after a few minutes. She is starting to mix with the children better and her communication skills have exploded lately - she can now get her point across with a mixture of words, gestures and noises. One of my favorite was from the other day which also shows how much of a lovely sister she is.
She had just woken from nap and came through the living room and wanted “milkies”
After she finished she kept pointing at the other side saying “Eilidh Dhat” then made her “milkies” sign. I told her Eilidh had already had some but she kept saying it. After a couple of moments she turned on her sad eyes, leaned up and gave me a kiss and say “Peas” (Please) . She was so concerned about her sister not missing out - she amazes me how sweet and wonderful she is to her.

We attended a cousins birthday party at the weekend, i of course took many shots . I fell in love with this one the first moment i seen it, i would much preferred a wider angle - more of the kids in but it still shows the moment.

The food was late in arriving and my sister got the kids up playing a game of “Simon Say” , imagine about 30 hyper 5/6 year olds and you can imagine what the place was like. My two year old stayed next to her Aunt sort of joining in but my just turned 10 month old was right in the middle of the action.
