Weigh Ins, Sickness , Vids and Pics

Posted by lauramcintyre

Ugg day started at 3am with Eilidh being sick, throwing up continued every 30 minutes or so till 6.30am - at this point i was covered head to toe (with a lovely puddle in my bra). Thankfully as the went on she seemed to be getting better and after two good naps was a happy little girl this evening who happily gulped down dinner. My dad was a life saver and took Courtney and Rebecca for a while letting my concentrate on just Eils without kids running around.

We also had the health visitor come visit today, she is happy with the girls progress and we asked about speech therapy for Rebecca but nothing can happen till she is on the other side of 2 1/2. Her next appointment is in 2 months and she will try and spend sometime hearing Rebecca talk and make a recommendation in the new year. Both girls were weighed and are now

Rebecca is 23lbs 1oz and 84.5cms (32.3inch) (up from 21lbs 7oz and 32.3 inch end of June), not sure of centile as the site i use only goes up to 24 months - does anyone else know of a page similar to this one.

Eilidh is 18lbs and 70cms (27.6inch) (up from 16lb 13oz and 27inch long end of June)-
She is 37% for weight and 61% for height.

Neither kid is that big but are both healthy and happy, she was thrilled with Rebecca weight gain and she is now almost back on her original curve .

Well to end some pics and a wee walking videos :)

We were finger painting

She got into some of Courtneys eyeshadow when i left the room for a moment

Exciting Times

Posted by lauramcintyre

Its yet again been a busy day, but then again with two little ones when is the day ever quiet?

We met up with some friends at a soft play area, they have a great section for Eilidh to play in and Rebecca runs around like crazy.
Eilidh gave me a few scares though and would climb up places where i couldn’t see her, she is not the greatest at getting down from places yet but thankfully we avoided any accidents.

Rebecca is still not settling well at playgroup but we do know it will take time and just need to keep going, her favorite word just now is “back” such as “turn the TV back on” or “want to go back” . She has two of her four two year molars and is now just sits in a normal chair at home (but we still insist on a high chair when out eating), she is still breastfeeding and co-sleeping with no end in sigh which pleases me :)

Eilidh is to put it nicely driving me insane at the moment, crying and fussing and not sleeping well at all . She is so happy sometimes put god forbid i put her down for a second. I must admit the situation is really stressing me out.
She is still toothless but also eats everything in sight, she has no new words and seems to have stopped saying anything except for mum, dad and now and then Becca (although i sware she told me no when i asked her if i could put a nappy on - which she then took off) . Her walking is getting better each day, illness threw her a little but today she was walking as much as crawling - she is so close to being able to climb on the couch by herself - I love her like crazy but she sure keeps me busy.

Me - Doing well, diet for the most part is going well and i have now lost about 2 stone (or 28lbs) since starting. I set myself a goal and when i got to it would treat myself to a mini make over - new hairstyle and eve brows done. Only got 2lbs to go to get to it now. I got exciting news from my cousin in Canada - she is coming for a visit in October. Sarah is one of my best friends and was a bridemade in my wedding, she has never met the girls yet and i cannot wait for her to meet them.

The Past Few Days

Posted by lauramcintyre

Its been another busy week, my sister is now a college student and as Courtney is only in school till 12 for the next few weeks i have been taken her in the afternoon. I already wrote about Monday, so welcome to the rest of my week.

Tuesday - Shopping day, not much fun as Rebecca and Courtney were both being pains in the you-know-whats. Individually they would of been fine im sure, together they wound each other up and if one girls done something the other would copy. We did go and meet up with some friends at a play centre afterwards which was a wonderful way for the crazy kids to burn of all that energy.

Wednesday - Eilidh was in a mood all day, temp was high and she was just so fussy and unhappy. It was also Rebeccas second day of playgroup which didn’t go to well. She cried the moment we got it the classroom and it took 30 minutes for her to let me put her down, i had to stay the entire time and i imagine will not be leaving her alone there for the next few weeks while she settles in. I do feel quite bad for her i do think she wants to interact with the others more, during song time the rest of the kids were singing and doing the actions to Twinkle Twinkle and she was sitting at the back not really joining it - every now and then she would put her hands up joining in then quickly put them back down again - as if she got self conscious. Poor kid.

Thursday - A fun afternoon, went to a park with the girls (as per yesterdays pictures) . The all had a blast although Eilidh kept eating the sand. We got home and the girls and i (Courts had gone by this time) had such a blast playing around for a while.

Friday - The usual - dinner at mums. Made the mistake of walking home though and both girls feel asleep , hence the reason once home i couldn’t get them down last night.

Today - A lazy day, neither girl is acting normal. Eilidh is so fussy its unbelievable and cannot be put down for a second, Rebecca is almost as bad. I have done nothing but sit about all day because the moment i moved world war 3 broke out. Not sure if its teething (but both girls? Possible i guess as Rebecca has just got her top 2nd year molars and due the bottom ones in) , or a bug - they both have runny noses. Thankfully both girls are in bed and sound asleep.
