Victoria Beckham - I admit it part of me is so celeb obsessed and Posh Spice is actually one of my favorite, i know alot of people hate her and she is constantly getting picked on for everything but i cannot help but devour any article that mentions her. She seems like a wonderful mother and i really think she could be fun to spend time with, although i do think she should stay away from acting. Ugly Betty anyone?

Veronica Mars - I feel in love with this show during the first season and the whole who killed Lily? saga. Kristen Bell was fantastic and im also loving her playing Elle in Heroes. The sad thing for me was after the high of the first season i never really got the second of last season and by the end i was barely watching anymore BUT i will never forget watching the season finale of season 1 so excited about the big reveal.

Vegetables - I spent the first 25 years of my live barely touching vegetables, i loved raw veg and would happily eat any of them before being cooked but forget about it once they had been heated. Some time between getting pregnant with Rebecca and now that all changed and i now love vegtables, Broccoli and Zucchini being my favorites. Growing up i was always told i would learn to love veg as i got older but i completely denied it. Guess i have to admit my mum was right (again)

Vacations - Or just plain Holidays as we call them, my parents always made the effort to take us nice places when we were younger. Our first holiday was to my uncles wedding in Denmark when i was 4, over the years we holidayed in places such as Spain, Canada, America and Africa. Sometimes we stayed in the UK and other times overseas but it was always a blast. I really hope we can bring our kids letting them see the world.

NaBloPoMo Day 30

The last day and i actually made it till the end, not sure how i managed it but looking forward to taking a few days off after today. Mind you hoping to get these ABCs done today so i can start afresh next week. Expect lots of postings from me today (and lots of nonsense, the last few letters are not easy)

Ultrasounds - I know some people don’t agree with these but for me i love them and would have one every week (when pregnant of course) , i think its the greatest thing getting to see your baby and i so hope next time around we can afford a 3d one. What i hate though is in Scotland we are only entitled to one “dating” scan at 12 weeks. No 20 week scan to check for problems or such, both times around i have been lucky to get extras but that was because of Rebecca’s problems. You are also NOT supposed to ask the sex, signs everywhere telling you not to - we just ignored them and asked and found out both times.

Umbrella - Courtney has this Cinderella umbrella (trying saying that 10 times fast) that she loves to carry with her. The other day i was taken the girls out a walk (in there pram) and after fighting with Rebecca to get her in the pram she insited in taken this umbrella with her (calling it Ella so no idea if it stood for Umbrella or Cinderella) , she carried it on her lap the entire walk . Strange child

Ugly Betty - I heart this show something crazy, its one of the few we actually get here in the UK not long after it airs in the US. We just saw the wedding/posh spice episode last week. Of course it does mean we will get breaks between episodes. Is anyone else hoping Daniel and Betty get together at some point?
Thats it for the Us, so uninteresting but there you go.

NaBloPoMo Day 29

Eck day 29 how did that happen? On with the Ts

Tandem Feeding – I never thought about this much before I was faced with it, I never sat down and went this is something I want to be doing one day. But when I was pregnant with Eilidh I just wanted to let Rebecca take the lead with regards to the feeding, part of me would of loved her to wean but a bigger part was happy she carried on. It was strange at first, having a newborn safely cradled in my arms feeding contently while a toddler is by my side taking big gulps. There were moments I hated it and moments I loved it, these days I can no longer face feeding them at the same time but I think neither of them would be happy with it anyways. I do think it made everything so much easier for Rebecca as she did’t feel excluded when Eilidh came along but rather included. 1 year on I had no regrets and would happily do it all again.

Talking - I am such a nervous talker and in most situations hate silence, to fill it have an annoying habit of just talking and talking mostly about complete rubbish. I know i embarrass myself all the time with it. I would love to be one of those people who social skills came naturally to but i feel i always end up looking like an idiot irl.

Thomas - This seems to be the most popular name in my family, i have one cousin on my dads side but on my mums side there is a few . My mums sisters husband (who goes by Tam) , My cousin in Canada (Sarahs dad, goes by Tom) and his son Tommy. I know another sister of my mums used to married to a man called Thomas to , don’t think we will ever be using the name if we ever have a son.

Time - I HATE lateness and always try and arrive for things way to early, yes im the type of person waiting around for 30 minutes before meeting someone (who normally shows up 30 minutes late)

Turkey - Im not a great turkey person, i like it but im not that bothered about it. BUT our local grocery shop does the most amazing Turkey and Stuffing Christmas sandwiches. The rolls are so soft , covered in Turkey breast , stuffing, cranberry sauce and topped with gravy. Both DH and i adore these and could eat them every day for as long as there served (they have been on the menu just over a week and we have already been twice, bad us)

Tellytubbies - Is there any adult out there that doest despise this show? . Courtney was the biggest fan when she was a baby , so much so that the only way to get her to sleep would be sit through a couple of episodes (over and over). I remember the highlight of Christmas 4 years ago was her getting some new Tellytubby videos - thankfully although Rebecca liked the show she was never that crazy about it

The stuff DH finds out about due to his studies , did you know that
Dihydrogen monoxide:

  • is called “hydroxyl acid”, the substance is the major component of acid rain.
  • contributes to the “greenhouse effect”.
  • may cause severe burns.
  • contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
  • accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
  • may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

  • as an industrial solvent and coolant.
  • in nuclear power plants.
  • in the production of styrofoam.
  • as a fire retardant.
  • in many forms of cruel animal research.
  • in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
  • as an additive in certain “junk-foods” and other food products.

And we all use this ever day
Scared yet, please check HERE for more informtion

NaBloPoMo Day 28

Does it still count if i wrote it yesterday? Well will try and fit another one in later if i get the time.

Sisters – Im so happy to have two little girls, I have such romantic images of them growing up always close and being best friends. Being so close in age they have got a constant companion, I just hope the bond they have already just continues to grow and grow. Im also lucky enough to be a sister myself, there is 4 years between Stephanie and I and for a long time that was a huge age difference. We spent a lot of time arguing but loved each other underneath. These days no one can annoy me in the way she does, but she is one of my best friends, love ya sis

Strawberries – Im so fussy about my strawberries and although they are serves year round here only really like them in the summer months. Add a little bit of sugar and there just divine but I try not to do that much. One of my fave things to do with strawberries is add them as onto a toasted bagel and cream cheese – strange but tastes ever so lovely.

Scotland – Im not one of these people who grew up loving her country, I was never practically proud to be Scottish and would always dream of the day I would leave this place behind. I guess as I got older I learned to love the beauty of my home country , for me most importantly its were my family is and that’s where I always want to be. So I guess you could say these days Im a very proud Scot.

Sunset Beach – I have loved American Soaps since the days before I was a teenager, once many moons ago there was an actual soap channel showing ones such as Another World, Days Of Our lives, Guiding Light, As The World Turns . For a while I watched them all but as predicted the channel folder after a while but through various channels and now online I still follow Days Of Our Lives. Sunset Beach was not one I started watching straight away, I remember reading about the Earthquake episodes and turned in - I fell in love straight away and was a complete addict till the last episode. It was such a big hit here in the UK and developed such a cult following, just about everyone watched it

NaBloPoMo Day 27

I have my ABC of Me - S all written and ready to go but its on the other computer, so guess it can be tomorrows and this non post for tonight.
Its been a funny day, Becca has been in a great and funny mood and Eilidh has been a doll. Except for the panic when shopping when Rebecca disappeared and we couldn’t find her anywhere - a worker helped find her running up and down the meat aisle. We think she had been to see the fish - its slightly disturbing that she gets just as much pleasure out of the dead fish as she does live ones in tanks.
Eilidh was adorable before we left to go shopping, we were going for lunch before hand and she had ran in the bathroom and closed the door. She was happy and laughing till i asked her if she wanted to go out for lunch, after a moment when she realized she couldn’t open the door she started crying - we let her out and she ran as fast as she could to the front door. I guess the combination of food AND out was just to much for her . Im loving how much she is starting to understand these days.

Before i forget here is Rebecca on her first birthday

And Eilidh a few days ago

Am i the only one who thinks they look nothing alike.

And just cause i love this shot

She is crazy about that hat and puts it on all the time, of course it normally covers her eyes - not that she cares and walks about with it on still

NaBloPoMo Day 26

Not going to grumble about feeling horrible and being up from 1.30 till 4.30 during the night with one kid, the two kids , then the other kid (while DH snuggled on the couch with the baby). Please please wish for this damm tooth to hurry up and appear soon . Need my good sleep back.

Rabbit – Growing up my dad used to tell us the most wonderful bedtime stories about a rabbit called Smudger, Smudger was a little rascal who was always getting into trouble and going on amazing adventures, my sister and I both adored these stories and even now would love to hear them. When I was around 8/9 my parents got me a real rabbit which of course was called Smudger. She was a little white and grey thing and so adorable. Unfortunately Smudger only lived a few years but I have such fond memories of my first real pet.
Radio – Im not much a radio person for the most part but my favorite station is a Glasgow based station called Real Radio. At least once a year they do this competition called “Real Radio Renegade” which gets everybody talking – it evolved following clues and trying to find the recipe somewhere in Glasgow and its surrounding towns, your talking a huge area but if you somehow manage to find him you can win thousands. Great fun but I have never taken part. To scared to ask random people if there the fugitive.
Rebecca – My little big girl, she challenges and frustrates me on a daily basis but most importantly brings such a joy to my life. We came up with Rebecca about half way through my pregnancy but my biggest problem with it was I didn’t like Becky, we settled on it but agreed not to use that shortened version. She does get called Becca but for the most part we call her Rebecca which I love – I have had to correct a few people though who insist on calling her Becky every time . I like that once she is older she will have some choices in what to call herself, even if it is Becky.
Raisins - I think this is a great snack for the girls, i know people will say to sugary or what not but to be there both fruit and natural. The girls think there getting a treat so we all win.I really love Chocolate or yogurt covered ones, funnily Rebecca doest seem to like the yogurt covered ones even though she loves the Chocolate or plain and loves the yogurt covered strawberries and raspberries (but not blackberries or cranberries)
Roswell - As in the TV series. Other than Buffy this is my favorite si-fi teen series, if not one of my fave teen series ever. I remember watching it when it first aired in the UK and giving up after a few episodes, a few years later and i was between jobs for a few weeks and plain bored and came across a website that had the first two seasons for download. Now this was in the pre-torrent days and i was on dial-up but still managed to download all 44 episodes in the first two seasons. I was quickly addicted and still get chills watching some episodes. The final episode still remains my favorite series finale ever and i think it was the perfect way to end the show

NaBloPoMo Day 25

Still feeling off today but thankfully not as bad as yesterday, neither girl slept great last night and im now convinced that i have Mastitis as along with all the flu like symptoms i have the sorest right breast. It would be strange to get it for the first time now but i have no idea what else it could be, looks like i may be needing to make a trip to the doctors tomorrow.

Both girls are sitting eating breakfast as i type this, did i mention Rebecca has been up since 3.40am and will DEFINITELY nap today. We spent hours curled up together on the sofa me trying to sleep and re watching the same episode of In The Night Garden OVER AND OVER.
Now im sick to the back teeth of In The Night Garden which is like her fave show ever - she has never liked a show like this before but now just wants to watch it ALL DAY LONG. Its on just now but thankfully she is not actually watching as she is to busy getting herself dressed for the day - something she is insisting on doing every day now, she does it for bed to which is actually kinda cute as she just goes to where her night stuff is kept and chooses the nightdress she wants to wear and puts it on.

Eilidh has just finished a pear, she has a new thing now when she finishes something she hands it to me saying “done” , after i take the thing she also starts doing the sign for “done” which i just noticed this morning. She is still teething like crazy but those top teeth are just not for breaking through, i doubt nights are going to get any better till they do.

Well better go, Eilidh has just splashed milk everywhere and is screaming “out” from her high chair and Rebecca is starting to tantrum over her dress not co-operating.

NaBloPoMo Day 24

Its been a horrible 24 hours, i was feeling horrible last night and ended up getting out of bed and going for a bath around 11pm to try and warm up. I spent most of the night unable to sleep and feeling terrible. It was bad enough that i got DH to get up with the girls this morning - something i have never asked him to do.
Thankfully the girls have been on there best behavior today and i have got plenty of relaxing in, hoping for a much better night tonight.

Queer As Folk - I remember when this first aired on British tv, i was about 18 at the time and only caught the odd scene, i remember being shocked at some of the content (not even the guy on guy stuff just what stuff was been shown). Years later i came across the show for download and downloaded it, it turned out to be the US version not the UK but i happily watched that anyways. Now of course i have seen every episode (multiple times) of both versions and think its one of the best and freshest tv shows ever. Whats my favorite version? The US one definitely as nobody can beat Brian Kinney.

Queen - It may be Un British of me but im not a fan of the Queen of the monarch in general, i hate what they stand for and that someone has a say in the country just because of birth order. Personally i feel they serve no real purpose other to spend our hard earned tax money on trips abroad and fancy parties.

Quiche - Anyone else like this? Im so so with it, its not something i can eat every day but get a fancy for it now and then. I really love it cold (at parties) and hot with loads of tomato sauce. I really love them with bacon added.

Short but sweet tonight, im actually feeling kinda normal and the girls are sleeping so im going to cuddle up and relax for a bit.

NaBloPoMo Day 23

Im so *tired* today, Eilidh is teething something rotten and was up most of the night crying. We both fell asleep around 3.30 am curled up on the couch together, that was the one bright point as we never get to sleep together.

Its P today

Pregnancy - As im sure most of you do i had a real love/hate affair with pregnancy, with Rebecca it was hell from beginning to end. I felt rotten and miserable the whole time, with Eilidh everything was different and it was pretty much a dream pregnancy with no morning sickness/tiredness or other first trimester blues. Either way i really miss it,i miss feeling the baby move and knowing there safe inside of me - i even miss the wondering what there going to look like and act like. I look forward to future pregnancies.

Prisoner Cell Block H - I can imagine most people have never heard of this show , its an Australian night time drama that aired years ago (it finished airing in 1986) but it has a cult following in the UK. Im honestly not sure how i started watching, i was only about 10 years old and it aired about 12 o’clock at night. I think it was during the summer and i just loved it, it was about a women’s jail and i guess could be considered hard hitting. I actually remember the American version of it Dangerous Women, now it was the funniest and cheesiest show i have ever seen, so of course i loved it

Pizza - Who doesn’t love Pizza, i love mines with Pineapple and at the moment lots of meat but that changes. DH works evenings and weekends at Domino’s Pizza, he was assistant manager but these days just does delivery driving - it can end up more money when you take in tips ect… . Its funny to think that in about a year he will no longer be working there.

Pink - I love pink, you can easily see that in my home with two of the rooms (living room and girls room) decorated in pink. Guess you could tell from my blog to. The only time i don’t like pink is head to toe on adults - but i think i have blogged about that before

Polish - I have a secret obsession, one im not even sure my closest family know. I love the smell of polish, its doest matter what the scent actually is but its still just wonderful to me. Most days i spray polish in a room just for the lingering scent, mmm lovely.
