An Interview With……

Posted by lauramcintyre

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NaBloPoMo Day 18

Yes i know how terribly big headed of me to do an interview with myself, but i have been wanting to write about my blogging journey for a while now. I planned to do it for my 100th post but that came and went, so i said for my 200th - that was a few posts ago but figured better late than never. Would love to hear how others went about the journey, either answer the questions of just write your own :)

How long have you been blogging? - It will 1 year next February

How did you start blogging? - I was aware of blogging but never really had any interest in it, if someone pointed out a blog post i would read it but that was about it. The first blog i started to read on a regular basic was Lisanne’s ,we were pregnant with due dates only a week apart and both had one year olds at home. I loved reading her posts and always felt i knew exactly how she felt, around the end of her pregnancy i ended up checking it a few times each day waiting to hear of her daughters birth (yes Lisanne i was your stalker then) . I guess it was not long after Eilidh was born that i started thinking about it, for some reason i could only find blogger and thought the other blogging sights you had to pay for and blogger HATED ME . I tried to sign up every couple of weeks but it never worked, eventually i managed to do it on DHs computer but still couldn’t post on mine. Eventually i found a way to do it (cannot remember exactly now, but it involved going through a few different pages and clicking on different login stuff) and i managed to finally start my own blog.

How did you start reading blogs? - It started with Lisanne’s as said above and a few friends who started up around the same time as me (Hi Raine and Christina). Now and then i would notice someone on an online group had there own blog and start to check that out to. Then i heard of Google reader and all hell broke loose. I loved how i could subscribe to the blogs and not spend ages going from one page to another and now i cannot stop reading other peoples blogs

What blogs do you read? - I currently have 79 subscriptions in my Google reader, i will put my blogroll back up after this post so you can have a look. If your not added in it it either means 1) i have somehow missed you sorry or 2) Im not reading your blog, but i would probably love to be - so for either way leave me a comment so i can start reading more .

How do find new blogs to read - In one of three ways normally
1 - When someone i “know” (normally through an online group) sets one up or already has one
2 - When someone leaves a comment on my blog i normally check out there page
3 - Through other peoples blogroll / links .

What do you look for in a blog - The blogs i read are 99% parenting blogs, and they all have at least one child under age 3. Its not that i don’t like reading other peoples blogs but i feel i can relate to the writers of these blogs in someway.

How did you come up with the name for your blog - Rather a boring story, when i actually managed to sign up i just looked around the room and saw a book of DHs about Synchronization (always the physics student) and tried that - it was taken so just added the “as us” and Synchronization Of Us was born. I actually kinda like it now , i do feel im always trying to get everything in my life in sync

  1. Tara Said,

Wow, where so you find the time to read 79 blogs? LOL I’m lucky to make it through my email. Actually the ones I read are starting to add up too (only to 10 so far- but hey I’m new to this whole thing). Also very glad to hear I’m not the only one blogger has it out for… it ALWAYS takes 3-4 tries to get my posts to post.

  2. Christina Said,

You’re so funny, doing your own interview. ;o) We have similar stories, I never ahd any interest in blogging either until I started to see a few friends with them. I began my blog just a couple weeks after you, and the rest is history. ;o) But I write way too much…I’m at almost 300 posts already!
