An Interview

A few weeks ago i was given some interview questions by Isil fromVeggie Way. Im so sorry it took so long to get around to , who would think that two toddlers would keep me so busy?

1)What thing about being a mum has surprised you the most since your dear daugthers’ birth?
There have been so many things, the overwhelming feeling of love and how protective i am of them. The constant fear of something happening to them and the amazing joy that can be found in there simple smiles. I guess one of the most surprising things for me was the type of parent i am, i never planned to co-sleep or breastfeed this long but just sort of fell into it as i felt it was best for my girls.

2)How do you find the environment in your town in terms of APing? Can you find like minded friends or do you feel lonely?
For the most part i do feel kinda lonely ,i cannot seem to find a local mums group (even non-ap) that i enjoy going to. There is one by the National Childbirth Trust i would love to starting going to but its on a Thursday morning during nap time and its at least an hour walk there . Most parents i meet have not breastfeed and are completely mainstream.
I do go to a local breastfeeding support group which i love, there are a few regulars and both of them breastfed till there children were two and a 1/2 and i just love that they get that part of me. I hate my shyness though and would love to invite them for lunch or play date.
I would say though that my town is very un-ap, most people seem more interested in partying and drinking than raising there child.

3)What little known fact about yourself would surprise your readers?
Not sure i think i have reveled most stuff im willing to reveal already but i guess going with the AP theme was i always swore i would never co-sleep and was so against it. These days im so against formula but when pregnant with Rebecca i planned to breastfeed and formula feed. Before Rebecca was on solids i had never cooked a meal before, i hated it and these days only cook because “forced”

4)What is your favourite activity when you are not mothering two kidlets?
I love long hot baths with a good book, i adore concerts or live shows and going for long leisurely meals out . And of course right now the kids are sleeping and im doing one of my fave things blogging :)

5)Let’s say you are going to be stranded with your family on a deserted island for 90 days. What 3 things would you take with you and why?
Hard one, my camera for sure to capture every moment (with a big big memory card and lifelong batteries)
Books or games to give some sort of actives (maybe Monopoly for DH and i to play when the kids are sleeping)
Blankets – I don’t care how warm it is i love to snuggle under a blanket night and day.

Enjoy :)

five questions. I get to pick the questions. If you don’t have a valid
email address on your blog, please provide one. You will update your
blog with a post containing your answers to the questions. You will
include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the
same post. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask
them five questions.
