Tis The Season

Posted by lauramcintyre

Looks like i may finally be getting into the Christmas spirt, i have been trying honestly.
Our Christmas tree is up but still mostly naked (except for an ornament Rebecca made at playgroup, some decorations Courtney made and some paper chains the girls made with my mum), Shopping is just about complete (and i got a great deal on a couple of gifts ordered online but cannot say much about it till after Christmas, Hi Mum :) )
Eilidh seems to be on the mend and DHs workload is getting a little better, Rebecca is full of joy and im getting so excited about seeing her fave on Christmas morning.

Our problem is how to handle Christmas morning, Rebecca is normally up a few hours before Eilidh. We don’t want to wake Eilidh early but also doubt Rebecca can wait to open presents, we can only hope for Becs to sleep in that day.

  1. Brittany Said,

It’s been rough this year to get into the Christmas spirit, here, too! I think it’s just all of the illness we’ve had. Well…. it’s the last week before the big day! Merry Christmas!

  2. Em Said,

I am so lazy i have said every evening i am going to wrap presents and so far zero are wrapped!

Tough one with kids on xmas day and i have no suggestions - nightmare!

  3. Arizaphale Said,

Just play it by ear. I doubt Eilidh will even notice that Rebecca has unwrapped her presents first. You almost get to have two Christmases. :-D

  4. Tara Said,

That is a a tough one, maybe you could let Rebecca open 1 or 2 presents while you wait for Eilidh to wake up.
Or as mentioned above, it’s highly doubtful that she would notice or care if they all are opened.
I’m sure mine will both be up by 5, (yeah!) Really I’m just hoping Santa doesn’t lapse into a sleep deprived coma waiting for the little ones to fall asleep.

  5. Christina Said,

I’ve had to struggle to find any christmas spirit this year, too. I jsut feel stressed. Hmmm, maybe you could let Rebecca open one present early and have it be something that wuill keep her busy for a few hours until her sister wakes up!

  6. Tiffany Said,

I would have to agree with some of the other people. Let her open 1 or 2, then wait for Eilidh.

  7. Kristi Said,

Love the new look! It’s hard for me to get into the Christmas spirit too when I have a list of people to buy for that 12 feet long!

Hopefully Rebecca will take a nice long snooze on Christmas morning!

  8. AnGlOpHiLe FoOtBaLl FaNaTiC Said,

Keep your fingers crossed. I hope it works. Do you say Happy or Merry? Good job getting all finished!

  9. Mandy Jo Said,

Hope Rebecca sleeps in for you. If not I would give her a gift to open. Good Luck!

  10. Shannon Said,

Make it a game… tell Rebecca if she stays in bed (even if it is just playing) sill Eilidh gets up she gets to pick what is made for Breakfast or something like that…
