Bad Blogger

I am so feeling like a bad blogger at the moment, it seems since December there has been one bug or another going around this house with poor Eilidh getting the blunt of it.  She has been running a terrible fever (getting upto 40.5c or 104.9 a couple of times. ) , she is sleeping terribly crying for hours during the night - last night we both passed out curled up together  just after 8 o’clock.

She is awful sleepy today which i think is a good thing, took a 3 hour nap this morning and 1 1/2 hour nap this afternoon and still went down as normal. I’m convinced she just needs a good sleep to help kick this thing .  She did get the MMR a week ago so im wondering if that is part of the problem.

Evenings lately have been spent trying to comfort her, of course DH is in the middle of exams and also studies in the room we need to go to. He finishes tommorow and has a week before he needs to return to uni , im so looking forward to the help  and a little break.

Glad to hear that your husband will have a bit of a break now, after his exams! I’m sorry that Eils has felt so icky for quite a while now. :( Yeah, maybe the MMR caused it? I hope that she feels better soon. Happy New Year! :)

  • Anglophile Football Fanatic:

Good luck & I pray you get the sleep your whole clan seems to need!

  • Christina:

You’re not an bad blogger, you’ve just had SO MUCH going! I hope the family’s health and everything else looks up soon. Hugs!

  • Kathryn:

Awe. Poor kids with all the sicknesses. Blah. So hard for them because they can’t tell us exactly what is wrong.
My Tommy was up ALL NIGHT last night puking. Poor kid.
It probably isn’t the MMR. I think any symptoms from a shot happen very soon after they get the shot. There is so much crazy icky sickness crap going around this winter. It is probably just one of the nasty bugs.
Thanks for commenting at my site. It is nice to “meet” you!

  • Alison:

I hope you are feeling better soon. I hated it when my children were so young and so sick.

i remember those childhood fevers. they can get very scary because things get BIGGER and then smaller and sort of SWOOP in between and voices sound JABBERY and FAST ….

i remember one winter when i was quite small, i had a high fever and my sister stayed up with me all night and read me “the story of a nutcracker,” which, in retrospect, with its nutcrackers coming to life and dancing rats and all might not have been quite the ticket for a slightly-hallucinating child.

hope your little one recovers quickly!

ps just read the “about” page on this blog… my sister-in-law did the co-sleeping, too. they have wonderful, bonded, intelligent, strong, healthy children.

dont’ know how that goes over in scotland, but in the US it faces a bit of criticism, which is nonsense. don’t let anybody tell you different.

    you know what you’re doing.

Hi Laura! What a nice surprise to find a visitor from Scotland this morning. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I read a couple of your posts(will read more) and understand your blogging frustrations. It’s so hard to decide what you will write about but I think you’re on the right track. It has to be what you love and are interested in–whether children, dogs, politics, etc. Good writing attract readers so keep on telling your stories and they will come!
