Stories Of The Week 2

Posted by lauramcintyre

Last post i promise, with DH finished his exams our evenings are spent together so not on the computer. I have currently got 1487 emails in my inbox 437 posts on Google reader to get through. I hate being behind.

Thankfully Eilidh seems to on the mend, i just hope she can go a few weeks without getting ill or cutting a tooth again. Today she was the best i have seen in ages, full of happiness and smiles and such a joy to be around. Her sleep has got so much better the last few nights - waking once or twice but happy for DH to settle her meaning im not getting up.

Has anyone figured from these posts how much i love having my husband around again? I know his studying is best for us all in the long run but it doesn’t mean its easy for us all.

So here it is again in the attempt to remember there antics my stories of the week, its slightly sad because i know many times this week have i thought - i want to blog - this but its already forgotten. It just shows how fleeting memories are.

- Lately both girls seemed to have developed a real jealous streak, when Eilidh is in my arms Rebecca is not allowed to come up to me - she throws a fit and tries to push her off. Sadly it normally ends with me having to put Eilidh down for a moment and holding just Rebecca. Its not just Eilidh though, in the mornings when we go and wake DH up Rebecca normally snuggles straight up to him but lately Eilidh has been getting there first - when she does Rebecca goes in a right huff with DH and will not go near him for a while

- Each week they seem to develop a new game to play, this week includes running around with a toy travel cot on there heads and playing in the bath (fully clothes and no water)

- The other day Eilidh fell and wanted a hug for comfort, Rebecca watched this and immediately “pretended” to fall of her toy, she danced around saying it hurt for a few minutes before demanding a hug. Tried to explain she can honestly get a hug anytime.

- Rebecca has been having a hard time with DHs studying, after all Daddy is home so why is he not playing with her? . During his studying she started to come up with any excuse to go and see him. Pulled of a sock? Need Daddy!!! Need a nappy change? Need Daddy !!! , Sneezed ? Need Daddy!!!

aww bless your little girls wanting attention, I know that feeling :S
our 3 month old is a nightmare sleeper and very clingy so wants held all.the.time. Cue tantrumming whining toddler who wants mummy’s attention the second the baby needs me!
    this too shall pass eh?

I’m so glad you are enjoying your dh’s company, it’s difficult when they are around but have to do other things. hope he did well in his exams!

  2. kristi Said,

Yay to having a husband at home. Life runs so much smoother when there are two parents around.

  3. Meredith Said,

I’m glad your hubby’s tests are finished. I have a countdown going in my head starting at about 3 each afternoon until my husband gets home. It makes everything so much easier, and he makes Little Elvis so happy.

  4. Christina Said,

I’m so glad Eilidh is (finally) feeling better! What a long road it’s been.

Both your girls sound like such affectionate little sweeties! Nadia’s been on a Daddy kick lately, yoo - and I gotta admit, it’s kinda nice for Mom. :o)

  5. Ped Crossing Said,

The attention thing does get better as they get older. And for the I must write that cute thing down. I think I need a voice recorder for right then and there. I forget it so soon.

  6. justmylife Said,

My little one wants her daddy time too, and sometimes its not easy to give it to her when she wants it. I have a bigger problem with my animals being jealous. Lately the dog doesn’t want the cat to get any attention and has been putting her head under the cat and “throwing” him into the floor anytime he is in my lap. The kids could care less unless I am near Daddy.

  7. Shannon O. Said,

Ahhh that is so cute! You gotta love it when they are jealous and want hugs too…
