  • Since my son was born i have became the number one fan of baby wearing. He is worn every time we leave the house - we don't even own a single pram for him. Those first few months he was even worn alot inside both to get to sleep and feed . I have no idea how i got to my third child before realising just how wonderful it was. I love how it leaves me hands free to deal with my other children. I know no matter how fussy or tired he i always have a solution. Plus having my wonderful son snuggled up so close to me is an amazing feeling.

As im such an addict now im definitely on the lookout for new baby slings . I currently use a Wrap but also have a ring sling . How much do i crave a moby wrap . This hand painted sling is to die for.
Im also desperately wanting a Mei Tai and this will be my next purchase.

If done right and with the right carrier (for you) baby wearing is a wonderful thing. Its both convenient and good for the baby. I look forward to my continued journey with baby wearing

Today was a day that did not have the best of starts, a rough night followed by two kids up at 5am . They fought, moaned and threw tantrums all morning long (an amazingly long fight over fruit snacks took place). Eventually i put them for an early morning nap and took a nice one myself.

Things could only get better and the afternoon was lovely, i finally cashed in the voucher my MIL got me for Christmas using it for a nice hour long full body massage. I have had a few massages before but nothing like this and i left feeling like a completely new person . DH and the kids picked me up (he had taken them to a play centre) and we went and got Eilidh a new pink car-seat before heading home .

Even then my fun didn’t stop as i went for a long soak in the tub (so indulgent during the day) reading the latest Mother and Baby magazine. I could hear DH and the kids playing about while he made a start on dinner (very yummy Fajitas).

Its now 7.32pm and both kids have been sleeping since 7 and im spending a little time online before DH and i get to curl up and watch some tv .

The day may have started on the wrong note but its definitely ending better.

One other thing of note happened today, Eilidh learnt a new not so fun trick - how to scream on command. Now of course she has been screaming for months now but always in response to something, today she discovered that at any point could she just let out a window shattering scream .This is one milestone i hope passes quickly (please)

oooh screaming on demand? yuck! Hopefully that won’t last long.

    Go get some rest, mama!

  • Christina:

Ahhh, I’m so glad you were able to have a massage and long soak to help wash away some of the frustrations/stresses!

  • Alison:

    Lucky you!! I love massages!!

  • Em:

Not a bad day after all, i want a massage soooooooooooooo jealous!

  • justmylife:

Glad you had a wonderful afternoon. How lucky you are.

  • Jen M:

Screaming is a phase I can’t handle very well - thankfully for most kids it’s pretty short.

    I’m booking a massage…

  • Anglophile Football Fanatic:

Oh, I hope the screaming ends soon. That doesn’t “sound” fun. (sorry. terrible pun.) And, wow. A massage and a bath. That sounds divine.

  • Kimberly:

I shouldn’t laugh, but the screaming on demand thing is funny. (Probably because it isn’t happening to ME.) :) At least you had a great massage. I’ve never had one!

    Hope tomorrow is better!

  • Meredith:

I’m glad you had such a great end of day! Little Elvis LOVES to scream. And I probably encourage this, because I will yell along with him. He says “AAAH” and I say “AAH”, then he goes up an octave, and I attempt to. He thinks this is such a fun game. It’s never a problem when we do the scream game at home, but it does get embarrassing when we are bebopping through the mall and he wants to play this game.

If you have to have both good and bad in every day (and it seems like mothers do), I’d much rather have the bad first and get it over with.

And now you get to enjoy the good. Woo Hoo!

  • Katie McGloflin:

Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Screaming, Gees! This too shall pass, I hope.

  • Shannon O.:

Lore does that too… ugh… been doing it since before she was one… and now she is what almost 19m… or is it 20m lol… oh well… it has lasted way too long… but so glad you had a wonderful day after nap time hehehe…

  • Veronica:

The screaming. Man oh man, I can deal with anything BUT the screaming. However it sounds like your day was lovely after the naps were had.
