Today my baby is 18 months old, does anyone else feel that its a big milestone? Each day now she will be getting close to two and further from one.
What can i say about her? She is seriously the most crazy, smartest, sweetest and silliest child i have ever met. Its no secret i worried how we would bond when she was born but thats never been an issue.
She winds me up, she frustrates me but also makes me the happiest person in the world.

In celebration of 18 months, here is my 18 things about Eilidh
1 - She LOVES to copy her sister, if Rebecca can get herself into the carseat then Eilidh can get herself into the carseat. If Rebecca gets naked and goes on the potty, Eilidh gets naked and goes on the potty - and these just happened to today. “Anything you can do i can do better” should be Eilidhs slogan
2 - She is learning to be very manipulative with her affection, she keeps her kisses and cuddles for moments when she decides she wants to give one . If you ask you normally see her either run away or put her hands over her mouth laughing. Although if she hits or bites you she quick as a flash will cuddle or kiss you to save getting into trouble.
She will always kiss or cuddle Rebecca though and the one poor person who almost never gets hugs and kisses is Courtney. She loves her cousin but quickly worked out how upset Courtney would get if she runs away from her, this has lead to a few tears and tantrums (from Courts)
3 - She never stays still , i call her my little energizers bunny as she is go go go from morning till night. Most night wakings are due to her banging her head on her cot as she rolls and crawls around in her sleep. I also think this is why she never liked co-sleeping as she needs her own space.
4 - Outsiders always think she is a handful and sometimes this upsets me, she is not one to be standing close to mummy. She will be the one pulling apart cupboards , eating the chalk or climbing the chairs . To me its not her being “bad” , she is curious and loves to explore . The world is an amazing thing to a toddler and Eilidh doesn’t want to miss a thing
5 - She has no fear ,she will run down the steepest hills and climb to the highest points in play parks and play centers. While other children her age stand about watching she is right in the middle of it all having a great time
6 - She talks, and talks and talks. This girl loves the sound of her own voice - especially in the car when she talks non stop. New words this week are “Co-Co” (Courtney) “Me Do” (As in i will do it) “Stays” (Stairs) “Sky” and “White Car” - and thats just a small part of it .
7 - For the most part she does not parrot what you say ,when she uses a word its nearly always a word that she understand . Sure you can hold up and orange and get her to say orange but if you were to try and get her to say orange with none in eyesight she would refuse
8 - She is incredibly stubborn and gets frustrated very easily, screaming fits are normal around here when she is trying to do something herself and not accepting help. She screamed for 30 minutes solid the other day trying to put her own top on but would not let me help in the slightest (when i forced the issue she screamed louder and took it back off)
9 - She is already incredibly opinionated , sometimes she is happy to let me choose but other times it MUST be the certain pair of underwear , MUST be the correct color of spoon ,MUST be the jacket she wants to wear. I can only imagine how bad this is going to get in the next few months.
10 - She is just plain crazy , she will randomly start doing silly stuff and loves nothing more than making everyone laugh. Lately its been funny walking - from running backwards, crawling on all fours or bum shuffling , sometimes she will jump everywhere or walk with her legs bent and her bump sticking out behind her. She must dress herself in any clothes or shoes she finds and loves showing off.
11 - This girl can EAT , somedays she puts away huge amounts that make me feel sick. Now and then we come across something she doesn’t like (but may eat the next time) but she tries everything put in front of her. Thankfully she loves any fruit and veg (with Bananas and Broccoli being a current favorite)
12 - This girl can DANCE , she has some great moves and flings her arms about like crazy. Anytime the smallest bit of music comes on she starts to move . She loves any type of music and her favorite kids songs are currently “Wind The Bobbin Up, Twinkle Twinkle, Incy Wincy Spider and Wheels on The Bus ”
She loves to join in with action songs.
13 - She is a great sister, so sweet and considerate and puts up with all Rebecca bossiness happily. I have a feeling she is going to love getting to be boss of this baby . She will make a great big sister though and loves to play with her baby dolls, she will rock them going “shh shh” and pretend to feed them and take them for walks.
14 - She is such a smart little girl, she can figure out anything. She is great at shape sorting and building towers, playing with Lego is great fun and she can scribble a cute picture. Everyone always comments on how she seems much older than 18 months
15 - She is still a “small fry” at about 21.7lbs and 32.5 inch tall (Unofficial of course) . Clothes are for the most part still 9-12 months but she is also wearing 12-18 months. She doesn’t look that small to me though , i still call her my chubby girl sometimes as she does seem that way to me .
16 - She is STILL NAPPING for the most part, think it was just a nap strike
17 - She is STILL BREASTFEEDING for the most part, not sure how long she will keep it up for but we are just going to take it one day at a time. I know she is not getting loads of milk as she finishes and asks for juice straight away (juice meaning water most of the time)
18 - She is constantly surprising us and showing us just how different siblings can be , she was walking/crawling/talking months earlier than i expected (based on her sister schedule) and defiantly keeps me on my toes
All in all she is one pretty awesome little girl who couldn’t be more loved and adored by everyone who knows her

Yesterday i spent the day with Eilidh , its breastfeeding week here in the UK and we went to “B In The Park” . It was just the two of us (Rebecca would of missed playgroup) , we spent the day hanging out with the other girls from the breastfeeding group in the lovely sunshine eating a picnic.
My Eilidh the handful , well she was the perfect angel who made me so proud of her. She listened and never once acted up or threw a tantrum .
I feel it was a much needed bonding day between mummy and daughter and is one that i will never forget.
I am so lucky to be her mum , im thankfully everyday that i have been given the opportunity to have her in my life. Im incredibly blessed with both my wonderful children and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with them
