Nada

Its 6.54am and im sitting here with Blues Clues on tv and Rebecca playing school. Im still pregnant and not even in pain - darn it !!!

I have no idea what that was about yesterday and overall im pretty embarrassed over the whole thing, i made such a big deal over NOTHING. Seriously my mum had to leave work early to take the girls, Craig came home from  UNI , We cancelled dinner at his mums and two midwifes came to our home - not to mention silly stuff like completely rearranging the living room for the birthing pool .

I have only ever experienced pain like that twice before and both times i was in labor , plus i was bleeding - not much and only when i went to the toilet but it was there . I still feel like i made the whole thing up in desperation for it to be over. I did start then stop labor with Eilidh, but it was never intense just mild contractions and bleeding . It stopped then started up again about 12 or so hours later .

I am wonderging if labor has stalled due to the position of the baby, my last appointment (last week) he was in perfect position but at somepoint moved (which i knew about, eased of my bladder alot but made me have awful gastric reflux) . He is now back to back and most of the pain during contractions was on the one side, made even worse i think as for the whole pregnancy he was on the other side - my left side is pretty much not use to having anything there.  The head is “right there” but not actually started going into the pelvis - again i wonder if this is due to positioning , during contractions i could feel his head pressing down on my left pelvic bone (gosh was that intense) .

I have been doing everything i can do get him into a better position, the only time i sat down before going to bed last night i used the birthing ball and spent alot of time moving my hips in circles. Today i am going to spent my time doing the same thing. DH is going to stay home and im going to leave him in charge of the kids for most of it and i will take it nice and easy - a long hot bath with some Clary Sage oil and Lavander do the trick.  Thinking of taken the kids out for a nice long walk to (if the weather lets up) in the hope of really getting things going.

Wish me luck and i hope i have something to report soon, i can just see yesterday being nothing and still sitting here a week from now pregnant and even more misrable

It’s OK, Laura! Sounds like maybe it was just his positioning? Maybe you’re having a labor like with Eils … starting and stopping. Well, I sure can’t wait to “meet” him ~ and I hope that things will go just fine for you. Wishing you all the best! Your blog was the first one that I checked this morning, hehe :) Again, I *really* hope that he’ll be born on September 12th (tomorrow ~ my birthday!).

  • Tara:

Don’t be embarrassed- these things happen. Perhaps he changed his mind in hopes of waiting until Lisanne’s b-day, lol. I’m sure you wouldn’t be too upset if he arrives before next Wed : ) I hated the end (well I wasn’t thrilled the rest of the pregnancies either) you feel like you are being tortured… not only is it incredibly uncomfortable but the anticipation is killer. He’ll be here soon! Enjoy your day..but don’t relax too much- you don’t want him to stay too comfortable in there, lol.

I am so sorry to hear that it wasnt time. I really hope he decides to come soon. I cant wait to see him and hear the news. You shouldnt feel silly about it. Even experianced mom’s get confused sometimes and with the pain and bleeding how could you not suspect something. I will be sending labor vibes your way hun. Good luck!!!!

  • Marylin:

Oh honey, really hope this little dude doesn’t keep you hanging for too long!

    ((hugs))

  • Meredith:

That sounds so painful! Hope your little boy makes his appearance soon! Definitely sounds like he’s getting ready!

  • Siobhan:

I know how you feel. My second, Cameron, was 8 days late. I gave up waiting and got induced that eighth day. It was pretty miserable waiting past the EDD. People in Costco and stuff would say “when are you due?” And I would laugh and say “5 days ago”. They’d think I was crazy for being out and walking, but I was only a stone’s throw from my doctor’s office and I knew I’d be fine.

I really HOPE you don’t have to wait past your due date, and hope you have a speedy delivery. Hugs!!

  • Christina:

Awww, well I’m sorry he’s still making you wait…you’ve just made his little watery home to comfy! You shouldn’t be embaressed…you are NOT the first woman to wonder if she’s really in labor!!! My Mom did it with my yougest brother, her 5th kid and she’s a nurse! LOL. Hang in there, I can’t wait for the news!

  • Joy T.:

I’m thinking you’re right in that he was just positioning himself. Getting ready to make his appearance. I have a feeling it sure won’t be long now!

  • Teresa:

No being embarrassed! You did not at all make anything up. It happened the way it did and then your body stopped. There is nothing wrong with your body and it’s not tricking you either…hehe..it’s just doing things the way it was made to do them. Sometimes it does a little work here and a little work there and then it’ll finish it up some day - soon. You had your bloody show, yes? It won’t be long. It’s not a wives tale regarding that - it’s pretty accurate.

With each one of my kids, I would have a day with a lot of labor, then it would go away and a few days later it would pick up and baby would be born. Maybe that’s what your body is doing this time. Keep us posted!
