My Boys

Gotta love a father and son moment :)

Just cause i think he is cute walking about in it :)

Coming Out The Other Side

S8305984

The boy is now 4 months old (well 4 months and 1 week) , how is that even possible . Seems like just yesterday i was sure he would never come

I think we are finally coming out of that newborn craziness . Its no longer new and crazy but normal . Things are never going to go back to the way they were pre Ru but we are all getting into a routine and accepting our new addition.
He is finally getting into a semi-predictable schedule , the first few months are always incredible difficult for me as i need routine . I hate not knowing when /where he will sleep . In some ways im so relaxed when it comes to parenting and i know i let the kids away with far to much but when it comes to naps and bedtime im a total control freak. Im always waking my kids up at certain times so they will not miss the next sleep :)

Ru tends to take 2 1/2 naps a day, from around 9.30 - 11 and around 1 -3.30 then another short nap around dinner time (sometimes as little as 10 minutes ) . He goes down for the night around 6.30/7 and wakes once during the night for a feed (normally around 11 , im going to try a dream feed tonight at 10 to see if that helps ) . After the 11pm feed he will normally sleep till Rebecca gets up around 7 the next morning. He no longer feeds just as much as he use to but still loves him mummy milk - we will not be starting solids anytime soon .
He is on the verge of doing so much - he can roll both ways easily (all though sometimes he does not do it for days which is slightly strange) grasp/hold/chew toys and walk forwards and backwards in his walker (but not turns corners yet) . He can also sit for a few seconds alone before falling over , get himself up on his hands and knees (but not both at the same time) , move around with wriggling (more than one making his way across a floor doing this) . He LOVES standing and had amazing strength in his legs , i held his hands for ages yesterday as he stood watching the world . He wants to spend all his time standing or in the walker at the moment.

His weight gain is definitely slowing down but i reckon he is at least 17lbs and he is still long, him 3-6 months stuff is getting to short and we are slowly moving into 6-9 months.

Everyone is still completely crazy about him , sometimes the girls love him that little to much . He still loves to be carried about in the sling which makes mummy very happy.

I love this part of motherhood, the newborn days are lovely but for me very stressful . I like
getting to know my baby and being able to play and interact with him - now if i could somehow figure out how to parent AND clean i would be the happiest person in the world :)

(Oh and for those that care, the missing Poo has still not been found but the smell has gone so im still completely clueless )

The Case Of The Missing Poo

Yes this another one of those Poo talking posts, i know many of you are probably turning away in disgust but as my tagline says “Im a Mummy blogger - deal with it” .

Basically i want to talk about poo i will talk about Poo , ok :)

It all started a few days ago when as is becoming normal at home Eilidh is running around with no nappy on . We are not yet toilet training but believe by letting her remain naked as much as possible then one day she will start to go on the potty - it worked with Rebecca so i can only hope.
I was in another room from her cleaning when she shouted on me, she was in her bedroom on the changing mat (which is on a changing table on Ru’s non used cot) . She was letting me know she had pooped.

This was simple enough, cleaned up her bum and went to clean the poo us BUT we cannot find it . Our toilet is hard to flush and it was definitely not done in there, every room was searched but it was useless. Over the day it became clear it was in her room - the smell made it obvious - so i began the search.
We searched high and low, moving around cots and toys .Opened drawers and cupboards . Still nothing .

Eilidh claims its behind the heating but repeated looking and even digging around with a stick to check for blockages has brought up nothing (this may sound far fetched but the heating is just below the changing table and its possible if she done it there it may have fell down)

In conclusion over 48 hours have past and we can still not find it, the smell is not as bad but still lingers . I have searched that room top to bottom with no luck , even checked out the walls incase it had been smeared somewhere.

Lets hope it shows up soon , before we get around to selling :)

Baby Slings

Since my son was born i have became the number one fan of baby wearing. He is worn every time we leave the house - we don’t even own a single pram for him. Those first few months he was even worn alot inside both to get to sleep and feed . I have no idea how i got to my third child before realising just how wonderful it was. I love how it leaves me hands free to deal with my other children. I know no matter how fussy or tired he i always have a solution. Plus having my wonderful son snuggled up so close to me is an amazing feeling.

As im such an addict now im definitely on the lookout for new baby slings . I currently use a Wrap but also have a ring sling . How much do i crave a moby wrap . This hand painted sling is to die for.
Im also desperately wanting a Mei Tai and this will be my next purchase.

If done right and with the right carrier (for you) baby wearing is a wonderful thing. Its both convenient and good for the baby. I look forward to my continued journey with baby wearing

These three amaze me, thrill me and constantly surprise me . They are my always and my everything . They are the loves of my life

Making The Move

I have mentioned more than once on this blog our need to move out of our current home (a two bedroom flat, with no gardens or storage space is not the ideal home for 5 people) . Our flat is roughly ready to sell (ok maybe about 50% , still got alot of work ahead of us) , hoping to start the process of putting in up next week (need to wait to pay day to pay a fee , then it takes about 10 days ) .
Gives us maybe 2 weeks to get all the decorating/sorting/cleaning done. Nothing like pressure - thankfully i work well under pressure.

Is this current market how long will it take to sell? The estate agency said no longer than 10 weeks - a friend who’s hubby is a mortgage advisor said at least 6 months (but he was talking about all property including houses ).

We cannot buy somewhere else till we sell this place. No way could we afford two mortgages, plus we are going to be needing some of the money we make from the sell of the place to put towards the new place. Can only get a mortgage if we can put up a 20% deposit (which thankfully between the sale of the flat and some other sources we should be ok managing ) .

House prices are nice just now, we can get a 4 bedroom for the same amount we would of spent on a flat 2 years ago. We always assumed we would get a 3 bedroom but im not holding out for 4 - each kid could have there own room and it would be wonderful .

We went to view our first house this morning, just being nosy and seeing what is out there. Just hope this place sells quickly , i would love to be moved by summer

Kids In Action

Im finally able to play catch up, its the difference a new breastfeeding pillow and some sleep make. I have NO emails in my inbox or reply to folder and only 211 blog posts left to read. Going to finish them and do some commenting today .
I do have a couple of posts in me , Ru is 4 months old in a few days and i so need to do a catch up on what he is upto. Not to mention the stress of redecorating and planning to move with 3 such young kids.

For tonight its just a couple of videos of the kids. First one is the girls playing Family Trainer - Outdoor Challenge , we are proud owners of this AND the Wii fit and love both. This one is much more child friendly and the girls love it. Sure alot of games are above them but the running/jumping ones they can play, they both also love the wack a mole game.
Second one is of Ru rolling over, its short and i miss capturing him lying on his back first of but he would no co-operate. I would lie him on his back and he would flip straight over before i got my camera ready - except of course if i got the camera ready before putting him on his back - then he would refuse to roll.

Well enjoy and im going to enjoy a nice relaxing evening while the kids sleep and hubby is out.
