Coming Out The Other Side

The boy is now 4 months old (well 4 months and 1 week) , how is that even possible . Seems like just yesterday i was sure he would never come

I think we are finally coming out of that newborn craziness . Its no longer new and crazy but normal . Things are never going to go back to the way they were pre Ru but we are all getting into a routine and accepting our new addition.
He is finally getting into a semi-predictable schedule , the first few months are always incredible difficult for me as i need routine . I hate not knowing when /where he will sleep . In some ways im so relaxed when it comes to parenting and i know i let the kids away with far to much but when it comes to naps and bedtime im a total control freak. Im always waking my kids up at certain times so they will not miss the next sleep :)

Ru tends to take 2 1/2 naps a day, from around 9.30 – 11 and around 1 -3.30 then another short nap around dinner time (sometimes as little as 10 minutes ) . He goes down for the night around 6.30/7 and wakes once during the night for a feed (normally around 11 , im going to try a dream feed tonight at 10 to see if that helps ) . After the 11pm feed he will normally sleep till Rebecca gets up around 7 the next morning. He no longer feeds just as much as he use to but still loves him mummy milk – we will not be starting solids anytime soon .
He is on the verge of doing so much – he can roll both ways easily (all though sometimes he does not do it for days which is slightly strange) grasp/hold/chew toys and walk forwards and backwards in his walker (but not turns corners yet) . He can also sit for a few seconds alone before falling over , get himself up on his hands and knees (but not both at the same time) , move around with wriggling (more than one making his way across a floor doing this) . He LOVES standing and had amazing strength in his legs , i held his hands for ages yesterday as he stood watching the world . He wants to spend all his time standing or in the walker at the moment.

His weight gain is definitely slowing down but i reckon he is at least 17lbs and he is still long, him 3-6 months stuff is getting to short and we are slowly moving into 6-9 months.

Everyone is still completely crazy about him , sometimes the girls love him that little to much . He still loves to be carried about in the sling which makes mummy very happy.

I love this part of motherhood, the newborn days are lovely but for me very stressful . I like
getting to know my baby and being able to play and interact with him – now if i could somehow figure out how to parent AND clean i would be the happiest person in the world :)

(Oh and for those that care, the missing Poo has still not been found but the smell has gone so im still completely clueless )

He sure is a sweet little man! I have to say I agree – the newborn days are sweet, but it’s to much fun when thier little personalities start to shine through!

Oh those cheeks are still so squeezable! Yeah this age is great when they’re just starting to do things. Hmm someone must have put the poo in the loo lol!!!!

He is so, so cute Laura. I can hardly believe that he’s doing so well in that walker. Oh my! Raya STILL only goes backwards in hers! :)
