6 Months

Today my baby boy turns 6 months old. I admit im a little heart broken over it, he was meant to stay a baby much longer.

Then…

Now…

He is still a little chunky money , getting close to 19lbs now i guess although he is not gaining as quick as he first was.

No teeth yet (not that im expecting any, girls were 9 then 10.5 months old) .

We “started” solids this past week ,yet again doing Babyled Weaning . So far only offering something at dinner time, even then the only reason im offering him something then is for the past 6 months i have eat every meal with him on my knee. He seems to enjoy the act of holding and chewing the food, he does not really swallow anything. He cannot pick up food to great yet either.
Not bothered though as he likes his milk and is doing great with it so don’t see why anything has to change. I do love being the only person who can provide for him.

He is a rolling machine , he can get anywhere he wants rolling . No idea why i bother with the baby mat anymore. He is so close to crawling but for the moment only seems to go backwards or sideways , frustrating for him but cute to watch . He can sit for a few minutes before he falls but we rarely practice this skill . He does not seem to enjoying sitting up – he is an active boy and sitting provides not enough moving around. Sleep is still a nightmare for the most parts, we cannot seem to get him into a decent routine during the day AT ALL. Sometimes he takes a few good naps, other days a few very short ones. It does not help that we are out and about doing groups and school runs alot , the lack of consistently i guess. He goes down wonderfully at night but from there onwards it can be hell , sometimes he will wake once and other nights a dozen times. I think im just use to it now.

He is the fussiest of the three kids (so much for the theory that kids born at home is a nice peaceful environment means a very happy child), very demanding with a terrible temper. BUT He is also a big snuggle bunny who loves to be in the sling or just have someone giving him attention (except at night of course) .

I love his smile and his giggle (that always needs to be worked for) . Cannot believe 6 months have passed already , half way to his first birthday….
