Bye

Its been a busy and long day but its now less than 12 hours till we set of on our first family holiday . We are spending the week at Butlins in Minehead and we are all so excited.

I will have my Blackberry with me so will still be Tweeting /On Facebook (lauracmcintyre) and if i can figure it out might sneak in a couple of blog posts. Not be doing any reading though.

Hope everyone has a great week and talk to you when we get back :)

About Time…

I promise a proper post tomorrow , all this packing and organising has left me no free time. Only 2 days to go yippee.

In the mean time Amy from 1 More Means Four is holding her first give away.
Prize is 2 nights for 2 adults and 2 children at the 4 star Best Western in Stoke-on-Trent including B&B and a 1day family pass to Alton Towers for a family of 4.

Total prize value is £300.00!!!!!!

Does it get much better than that? Alton Towers rocks .

Im loving that its UK only, not that i don’t love all you US folk but i come across give-aways all the time and its always American only…

Annabel Karmel Pasta Shells

I was recently gifted with a bag of Annabel Karmel Pasta Shells to try out.

I think everybody here in the UK at least is aware of Annable Karmel and her recipes/food products , i know with Rebecca we followed her books like a bible.

We were given a bag of her Organic Pasta Shells , from the official site she says

“Adding tiny pasta shapes to a tasty sauce introduces texture in a gradual way. You can also serve the baby pasta with meat, fish or vegetables.

Made from Organic Durum Wheat Good source of carbohydrate
No artificial additives & no artificial preservatives
Suitable for vegetarians Naturally low fat ”

They sound perfect and i was eager to give them ago , in the past i had not bought the product as i did not feel the need. We do not go the puree route so felt small pasta shapes were not needed , my first thought (along with Hubby’s) was they would be perfect for soup . I can almost guarantee we will be buying them for that purpose come winter.

I made the kids Cheesy Pasta for lunch yesterday using the pasta and it was a big success , all 3 cleared there plates and declared it “yum” (Well those that can talk lol ) . I felt i was given them a nice ,healthy but filling lunch dish.
I was surprised how much i liked it , the small shape meant it mixed well with the sauce (meaning no toddlers picking out pasta only to eat) and it cooked quickly .

Would i recommend the product? For those with children on table foods who are able to handle bigger chunks im not sure its necessary , we normally use Wholemeal Pasta Bows and even the boy manages them fine . If your child is on purees or starting out with lumps then i would 100% . I remember searching everywhere for a similar product when weaning Rebecca , the perfect size to add something more to the meal without the worry.

There is a whole range available including Gluten Free and Alphabet Shaped (which i think may be putting on my next shopping list, my abc crazy daughters would LOVE them) .

Anyone unsure about them just given them ago , you may be pleasantly surprised like i was.

Shssss

Don’t tell anyone ,they might think i actually like my kids or something…

Im really enjoying the summer holidays , ok its only been a week but its been much better than expected . Without the usual toddler groups and nursery/playgroup runs im getting to spend some time with my kids. Nothing big but just handing around playing, singing and dancing.
They really are all awesome little people and its lovely getting to re-connect with them again.

In just 6 days we are away on our holiday and i cannot wait, 7 days away with my favourite people on this planet. Its going to be a blast.

Im such a lucky lady :)

Dance Baby Dance

Needed to share this video of Ru and has latest trick . He loves music and loves to dance , and sorry no front shot but well if he seen the camera he would of stopped and went for it.

1 - How cute is he ?
2 - How smart is her figuring out buttons?
3 - Did is ask how cute he is?
