Destruction

Does anyone else have think one year olds seem to desroy everything they come in contact with ?

In the last few days Ru has managed to (well i do say it was Ru but cannot prove it 100% but he was the last person seen with the objects before destruction)

- Break our cable remote control , for a while we could not even play/pause anything but that seems to be working now . The volume button does not work and it is very annoying. Sure we can use the tv remote but it is much easier just having the one. This i partly blame cable company for as their remote controls have these silly little black covers which (in my experience) come off to easily . This means when a 1 year old picks it up and has a little chew it ends up wet inside.

- Broke my beloved Blackberry . It went weird Friday morning , at first i was unable to do anything and it kept randomly calling people . I could not talk or hang up so i am sure a couple people thought i was stalking them :) . It kept freezing and seemed ready for the bin. Come Sunday it had seemed to sort itself out accept for the track ball in the middle not letting me press enter (thankfully another button can be used) . It is again annoying but at least i can use my phone again. Do have insurance but may wait till something else goes wrong before resorting to it.

-Broke the darn computer mouse . If you leave it sitting to close to the end of the computer desk he is right up and at it giving it a little chew. Today it finally gave up and nothing is getting it working again. Hopefully hubby will bring a new one home from work but in the mean time im using sucky mouse keys and cannot face doing all the things i need to do with them.

Basically Ru likes technology - phones/remote controls/keyboards/mouses anything really and he will be in at it . Oh forgot that he also decided it was fun to throw my sisters phone into a sink full of water Friday (so yes that meant 2 phones 1 day) .

He really is a little monster :)

Oh dear! One day he’ll have his own to wreck as he sees fit - hope the destruction stops soon! xx

A friend’s little boy threw away THREE satelite remotes in about 2 months… Hannah went through a stage where she threw things in the trash as well (annoying stage!). Our cable remote has been dropped about 1000 times, an while it still works, it’s not quite right any more :) One time Elijah was pounding on the keyboard when I was upstairs and managed to hit a series of keys (ctrl shift left arrow, I think) that turned the picture on the screen sideways (and the icons and the mouse cursor was affected as well). I couldn’t get the mouse to go where I wanted so I had to call DH so he could look up the solution. Those boys can be crazy :)

He seems a little young to have decided to follow the luddites, but each to their own…
