Since i have nothing else to do with my time i have decided to sign up to the read 100 books in a year challenge. Find it here . Basically the goal is to read 100 or more books between now and 31st December 2010.
Now will i make 100 – i have my doubts . You are talking multiple books a week then and i just don’t have that time. I may sneak some smaller books in there – maybe rediscover my love for The Babysitters Club or Christopher Pike which are ones i could read in a few hours. Take a look at the pages and you can find a new link to Books Read where i will be listing the books i have read. I think it will be interesting to look back and see just how much i do read over the year.
My first book is finished – Dead until Dark by Charlaine Harris which is book one in the Sookie Stackhouse (or Tru Blood tv series) . Anyone else read these? I found it a little hard to read , not what i was expecting at all. I spent the end of last year reading mainly Stephen King and i feel the author is just not in the same ball park as him .
I have started the second book Living Dead in Dallas and have the rest on order from the library.
I am also about 1/4 of the way through Songs of a humpback whale by Jodi Picoult .
I have another Jodi Picoult (cannot remember which one) in a to be read pile along with Liseys Story and Flash Forward
Would also like to read The Dark Tower series again along with The Vampire Academy series.
What are you reading this year?

Welcome to the 100+ Reading Challenge. This is going to be a fun reading year.
Happy New Year!!
What a big goal! I loved the Babysitters Club when I was growing up. Right now I’m reading a collection of short stories by John Grisham. It’s alright. Not sure about my next book, though.
The Southern Vampire Mysteries is so completely different to the TV show, they’re nowhere near as compelling! If you like that kind of thing though, you should try the Lauren K Hamilton “Anita Blake” series.
I really love the Southern vampires series and funnily enough, the way the TV series has branched so far away from the books in some aspects. I guess that’s why I’m still into both.
If you enjoy the Vampire Academy books you should also try the Succubus books by the same author. And I’m with Kim, the Anita Blake series is a must!
This is such a good idea, thank you for putting me on to it. I only managed about fifty last year, so this will be a good step up!
I am going to do the 100 books challenge, because you are the fourth person to mention it!
I am such a hungry reader, that if I worked out what I read in a year it would be over 100. Going to go and see what I have already read this year.
I have read the books the Tru Blood series are based on and like you I didn’t think they were quite what I thought they would be. But on TV I quite like them… go figure!
I actually fished out my Dark Tower books yesterday… how odd we are quite similar with our reading tastes!
I’m in!!! I used to read CONSTANTLY. I really want to get back to it. I don’t know if I’ll make 100… but I’ll try.
